I’ve heard there are “plainclothes” security people in casinos, who appear to be just another visitor, but they are really watching people.

It's more than just that. Many uniformed casino employees are actually working on the security detail and you don't know it. The dealer dealing out cards or the cocktail waitress bringing you drinks could very well be a security officer and you don't know it.

Yep. I’ll never go back to Vegas after one of them pulled an ahole move on me. I was talking to my wife and a jerkoff dealer threatened me with expulsion. We were talking about what to get for dinner. The place is just too hostile and paranoid to ever return to. Sure they have reason to be that way, but it’s not something I wish to experience while on vacation.
