I hope the negotiations don’t run into language difficulties. It’s said that Japanese has a way of saying yes that means “yes I hear” not “yes I agree” which has caused naive negotiators to make missteps. I hope the North Korean translator understands similar nuances.

I fear this will blow up in Trumps face. The NORKs are dirty rat bastards and can’t be trusted. They will violate any agreement.

One way or another, Trump is going to deal with Kim.

So if Kim does renege, Trump will simply have to deal with it.

Un can take the easy way, or the hard way.

One way he remains alive.

For now, I’ll believe the NORKS rather than the media.

I have my doubts about Un, but to play tyrant’s advocate, he’s got the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head at all times. If he DOESN’T act like a tyrant, his own military will be turning on him, just as they would at the first sign of weakness

It’s just a guess, but I think that Un would strongly prefer technological advancement and moving NK up into being a country that the other third world countries don’t laugh at. And maybe actually be able to go to nightclubs in other countries without having to worry about a military coup in his absence.

The problem being that he has to perform a very tricky dance of disarming and building his own economy while not showing weakness to anyone who might try to topple him and sabotage the whole thing.
