Hearing with FBI agent goes off the rails after GOP congressman asks how many times he lied to his wife about cheating on her
A congressional hearing devolved into chaos Thursday afternoon when Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas attacked FBI agent Peter Strzok over his extramarital affair with FBI lawyer Lisa Page.
While accusing Strzok of lying under oath, Gohmert said, "I can't help but wonder when I see you looking there with a little smirk, how many times did you look so innocently into your wife's eye and lied to her about Lisa Page?"
The House chamber quickly broke out into pandemonium, with fellow lawmakers shouting "Mr. chairman, this is outrageous!", "Shame on you!", and "This is intolerable harassment of a witness!" over each other.
Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, also of Texas, even yelled "You need your medication!" to rebuke Gohmert. Rep. Jarrod Nadler of New York then raised a point of order, accusing Gohmert of violating House rules by "impugning the character" of a testifying witness.

It was best when he had to read aloud his own text messages. It’s one thing to read them or hear another quote them. It brings it home when he says in his own voice the things he wrote to another agent about Trump.
If he thinks he could fairly judge between Hillary and Trump without bias, he’s utterly in denial and operating under a self-delusion.
Or a hall monitor who never had a date.

I missed this part but the part I heard of him trying to play himself up as a man of integrity and honor reminded me of when Ollie North burned the Democrats. I figured he had studied that and thought he could pull it off, too. Problem is, Strzok is no Ollie North. Unlike North, Strzok has no marital integrity, and honor obviously isn’t part of his makeup or he would have recused himself from these investigations.
I have a wish:
Wouldn’t it be nice if the committees found some authentic, honorable, dedicated FBI agents, who would be willing to appear and establish that Comey-clone, Strzok, does not represent the whole agency.
Attacked? Hardly. The question speaks to integrity and trustworthiness.

The Rat objection was a red herring, anyhow. The House rules forbid impugning the character of a fellow member or the President. No such rule regarding witnesses brought before Congress.

from what i saw Dems were pushing their clown car off the rails all by themselves, sowing chaos, dissent and pandemonium challenging Chmn Goodlatte.
