Why Won't Trump Fire Sessions and Rosenstein?

Posted on 07/12/2018 4:13:12 PM PDT by rebuildus

After hearing today that A.G. Jeff Sessions did not know if FBI Peter Strzok still has a top security clearance (apparently--incredibly--he still does), and seeing how untrustworthy Deputy A.G. Rosenstein is, I can't take it anymore.

So my question is, why hasn't President Trump fired Sessions and Rosenstein yet? I can at least a little bit understand not firing Mueller, since he essentially has the President under investigation, but there's no such "conflicts" with Sessions and Rosenstein.

Can someone help me with this? I really want to know.

He doesn’t want the Left to have that ammunition before the Midterms, is all I can figure out.

Because if he does he’ll be impeached...regardless of who controls the House.

Because: midterms

Doesn’t matter that the whole thing is built on a lie by liberals. It will only provide more “proof” that something is up. So they have to let it run silly for awhile.

I don’t like it either.

Thanks, originalbuckeye. If that’s the case, I hope to God that the day after the elections, there’s a house cleaning like we’ve never seen before!

He has stated directly that he is trying to keep hands off the Justice department so as not to give added fuel to the criticisms of him. Therefore it is no mystery as to the policy he is following.

Trump is accomplishing a lot of stuff while the press is chasing the red herring. Trump is a lot smarter than me and a lot more savvy than any of us. He is waiting for the perfect moment. The S will HTF soon enough. Be patient.

Because his own party has threatened him not to do it.

The media will go to defcon 1 and the push for impeachment will constant...

He’s going to have to do it anyways. Way too much damage is being done.

The only thing I can come up with that makes any sense at all... if they keep investigating the left will have a hope that they can impeach or indict or whatever, they won’t try to do something worse to him. It isn’t as if they haven’t floated the possibility.

Are we that far gone that we cannot even effectively articulate in public that the President can fire anybody he damn well wants to?!

I figure Trump knows pretty much everything there is to know about the FBI/DOJ malfeasance in the prior administration. The hammer comes down when Trump drops it.

If I remember correctly, Sessions was approved by the senate by one vote, with Pence breaking the tie. Sessions recuse himself within a week of being approved.

Rosenstein,on the other hand, was approved by a bipartisan vote, I believe it was 94-1. I for one, was very suspicious at that point. Soon after being approved, Rosenstein appointed Mueller. It all stinks.

Thanks, Williams. I understand the political calculus. It seems to me though, that with the right articulation of his rights as President, that this could have already been successfully done. Now with the mid-terms looming, it looks like he will wait. But there should be no excuse after that, so let em have it!
