So when you hear liberals carrying on about all the "rights" threatened by Kavanaugh, remember that by "rights," they mean "policy ideas so unpopular that we can't pass a law creating such rights."

Right on, Ann! I have to remember that line.

"If senators can't protect these alleged "rights," it can only be because most Americans do not agree that they should be "rights.""

...or those rights are part of the Constitution and changing them requires a lengthy process and essentially 2/3 of Americans' representatives to go along.

Indeed, they know that through liberal-packed courts has been where they've been able to advance their agenda far more effectively than through the legislatures. Stroke of one bought-and-paid-for judge's pen, case law precedent, (often) effective throughout the land.

On occasion, even erstwhile Conservative SCOTUS Chief Justices (e.g., Robets) have acquiesced to their desires (e.g., rewriting even lawmakers' intent; think Obamacare).

These senators know they're just pawns in a larger game, even if they're a Reid or McLame.

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., tweeted: "Our next justice should be a champion for protecting & advancing rights, not rolling them back -- but Kavanaugh has a long history of demonstrating hostility toward defending the rights of everyday Americans."

Hasn't Fat Boy Cory got a woman to beat up somewhere?    thinking face

Ann continues to have some really great lines, especially when she’s on-target.
