(CNSNews.com) On July 10, Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) introduced the Zero Tolerance for Illegal Entry Act, which would make it a felony to cross the U.S border illegally and would mandate an E-Verify system for American employers to ensure that they are not hiring illegal immigrants.

Sounds good at first but the fact that Rep Black has taken her this long to introduce such a bill which frankly will need alot of support and work behind the scenes to twist arms and the fact she is running for the governorship of Tennessee this year means this is likely just a ploy to win more Tennessee voters than a serious proposal to help with our immigration problem.
Color me a skeptic.
So lets see....
A man berates a woman wearing a Puerto Rican flag T-Shirt.....and is charged with a felony hate crime
A man who illegally crosses into USA and takes someones job and/or leeches from the taxpayers, is not a felon
Rep. Black is one of a couple dozen in the House that side with the citizens and the rule of law.
There are just FOUR Senators on our side.
We will not get legislation favorable to the citizens until we replace the Bush League Republicans with patriots.
I thought she was running for the Senate.
I thought she was running for the Senate.
That’s Marsha Blackburn whose running for the senate(Corker’s old seat)
Yup, she’s running for Senate.
Yeah I just realized that. Thanks
Now if she announces she going to have zero tolerance for illegal aliens...
ok so she’s playing politics. So what if she wins?
Putting the campaign promise to get elected, aside. Do you disagree with it becoming a felony to try and enter the country illegally and instituting EVerify? Why aren’t those two proposals serious?
And, I’m hoping you don’t use how difficult it might be to get through Congress.
No problem at all with Black’s bill.
In regard to making it a felony, I thought that it already was a felony to illegally enter the US.
My problem is the “sausage making’ process pf making laws in general, which on the most non controversial bills has a lot of dotting the “I”’s and crossing the “T”’s to make it has enough,bi-partisan support, kicking or bribing enough own party hardasses, doesn’t conflict with existing laws or f%5ck up existing situation.
And all this takes time. More time than she has left in her current term.
10-4.
Biggest solution, IMHO, One bill at a time and no sneaking/attaching things in monster bills that no one reads and more times than not, has nothing to do with anything.
But you make a valid point and with the immigration shills in Congress, I’m not holding my breath.
And to think, in this day and age, crossing the US border is only a misdemeanor. In other countries they shoot you.
One would hope that should be the template for making all laws, one issue at a time but neither side seems to do business that way, all these “package deals” like the cable deals that include alot of crap nobody wants.
I hope we don’t allow our country to imitate those countries who shoot trespassers.
I don’t blame lil Manuel for wanting to improve his lot for his family.
I do blame with utter contempt our leaders who refuse to stop the flow.”(”lets shoot them!)
Just follow existing law.
And build that wall.
