On Friday Trump and first lady Melania will have tea with the Queen in one of her drawing rooms before leaving for Scotland. US President Trump described Queen Elizabeth II as a "tremendous woman" in an interview with The Sun newspaper, hours before he and first lady Melania Trump are due to meet the monarch for tea on Friday. "She is a tremendous woman," Trump told the newspaper during his UK working visit. "I really look forward to meeting her. I think she represents her country so well." The US President also praised the Queen's ability to avoid controversy during her 66-year reign. "If you think of it, for so many years she has represented her country, she has really never made a mistake. You don't see, like, anything embarrassing. She is just an incredible woman," he said. The US President was less effusive in his comments about British Prime Minister Theresa May, whom he dined with at a state dinner Thursday evening after a red-carpet arrival in the UK. At the end of the evening, The Sun released audio of the interview, in which Trump said May "didn't listen" to his advice on negotiating Brexit. "I told her how to do it. That will be up to her to say. But I told her how to do it. She wanted to go a different route," Trump said. "She should negotiate the best way she knows how, but it's too bad what's going on." White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders responded on Thursday, saying that, "The President likes and respects Prime Minister May very much," and that he "never said anything bad about her."

Now if only we'd toss political dynasties too.
In theory, yes. However, if Prince Charles can talk about global warming and his other political hobbyhorses, then other British royals expressing their views on immigration and Muslim enclaves in the UK wouldn't be any more out of line.
Yes, everyone should watch “The Crown” to see what the Queen has gone through her entire life. Very impressive. If anyone thinks she just sits around and drinks tea, please watch it.
British royals are not allowed to speak about politics in public. I thought everyone knew this.
Gawd I love Pres. Trump!
No bowing before the queen from the POTUS and FLOTUS!! How utterly refreshing. Antithetical to Obozo who couldn’t wait to lick the boots of lesser monarchs.
As I said above, Prince Charles speaks publically about global warming all the time, which is a political issue.

Hard to tell what’s going on. Looks like Trump arrived exactly on the hour, so I suspect that was the time. Looked for a minute that they had the Queen waiting for them.
Would have been cool, if she was holding a large Trump balloon.
Queen doesn’t look well. Unsteady on her feet and puffy ‘steroid face’. I understand she’s been quite ill lately.
He also allowed her to take the lead which is proper protocol.
Being 92 will do that to you.
Yep.
the older you get the smaller you get. I don’t think this is a bad thing..
I was always a big fan of the Queen Mum.
It’s a fine line. Royals are expected to have charities they sponsor. When I took a cruise on the QM2, there was a talk about the charities of the Royal Family, and there was a request to donate to Prince Charles’ charity.
And put in a few friggin paragraph breaks.
Deals with whom?
