Don't Drink the Water: DC Warns Thousands of Contamination Risk
NBC Washington ^ | July 13, 2018 | Andrea Swalec

If you live in D.C., you may have to boil your water.

DC Water is advising tens of thousands of residents and businesses in a major portion of the city not to drink or cook with tap water without boiling it because of a contamination risk.

A problem with the water system Thursday night made it "possible for contaminants to enter the water," DC Water said in a statement early Friday. Officials say there is no information indicating that any water was contaminated; the "boil water advisory" is a precaution. DC Water says it is safe to bathe or shower, but to avoid swallowing the water.

The advisory is expected to last 24-48 hours, the utility said just after 9 a.m. Friday.

An estimated 34,000 DC Water customers are affected, spokesman Vince Morris said. The total number of people affected is likely much higher; residents of an entire apartment complex can be counted as a single customer.

A South African utility company has been given an ultimatum
to reduce it’s number of white employees by 44.3% over the next five years. This means 3,389 whites have to go. It is part of the Federal “Black Empowerment” program.

For years, Eskom has been under orders to only hire non-whites as new employees. The firm says it is having major problems finding enough qualified non-white applicants. Currently, Eskom’s middle managers are 30% white and it’s skilled labor force is 21% white.

The South African government has also ordered Eskom to reduce it’s safety requirements to make it easier for non-white applicants to qualify for jobs.

Eskom is ordered to reduce the number of white engineers by 1,081, and the number of white skilled laborers by 2,179.

South Africa is currently experiencing a rapid collapse of it’s electrical infrastructure and power routinely goes out all over the country.

The South African government has also ordered Eskom to reduce it’s safety requirements to make it easier for non-white applicants to qualify for jobs.

Because everybody knows that electricity doesn't travel through black bodies like it does white bodies...

Then, after the body count is high enough...

The African version of BLM will declare electricity racist and it's usage as "white privilege" Then the continent of Africa will go dark after after the last white man is killed or driven off.

I never thought I would live to see "Atlas Shrugged" as an blueprint not just good fiction.

I think it should be on a "reading list" even though it can be a very hard read in sections where Rand is "philosophizing" Not sure HSers will get the concepts in depth Rand has in it, but it is one of those books you read over and get the little nuggets you might have missed.

I read "Atlas Shrugged" in my thirties and my political ideas were already in place by the time I was in high school so it had little influence on my views, just affirmation.Definitely a college read.

I must admit I haven’t the “Atlas Shrugged” movie.

I’ve4 seen “The Fountainhead” with Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal. I thought it was good.

How was the movie?(assuming you’ve seen it)
