I must be in the minority, but I still am grateful to Mitch McConnell, for holding the line, holding the Supreme Court vacancy after Scalia died, so that Trump could fill that vacancy. And then, Mitch successfully invoked the “nuclear option” so that the Gorsuch nomination would not be torpedoed by a Democrat filibuster. And due to that action on the filibuster rule, Judge Kavanaugh will be confirmed as well.

That’s not to say I agree with everything he’s ever done, I’m just saying, on the issue of judges, he’s done a lot for the conservative cause.

I’m TOTALLY with you on McConnell. Also consider that the RINOs are likely the problem in the Senate, rather than McConnell, as it only takes one or two to veto ANYTHING that he wants to do, including speeding up confirmations.

I think McConnell’s has a good year. The reason we’re in the position we are with the courts is because of him.

You are right. And the dividends of McConnell getting Gorsuch are already paying off

He was holding it open for hillary, probably at her request.
She probably showed him his file she keeps for such occasions. Remember, Turtle and everyone else in DC knew the fix was in for her.

Yes he’s done well on the SC so far. And in pointing
out who these Pearce- socialists - and that they are thugs using intimidation.

Each time they get away with it, they get emboldened.

I agree with you. Ultimately, for all of his faults, that one move right there may have saved the republic. Not only would that have given the liberals a majority, it might’ve thrown a wet blanket on our votes in the 2016 election, thereby permanently securing that majority.

"I must be in the minority, but I still am grateful to Mitch McConnell......."

I believe many thoughtful conservatives are in agreement with you.

He did the right thing, the smart thing on the Scalia vacancy. He made a lot of enemies on both sides of the aisle in the process, but it was the best thing for conservative minded Americans.

I don't agree with all of his actions but neither do I agree with all of Our President Trump's actions, but McTurtle has been a force right along with Senator Grassley in regard to the courts.

Court appointments are one of the most important duties of any president and the Grassley/McConnell team has done very well in that regard.

You’re not alone in that sentiment. The more that the “Dales” of this country try to intimidate conservatives, the more they will move the needle of the undecideds who are not comfortable with the left’s “brown shirt street tactics” towards the right.

Outside of POTUS Trump himself, in my view the man most responsible for electing him president is Sen McConnell - precisely because his “holding the line” on the vacant Scalia seat motivated POTUS Trump’s base to turn out and support him.

He may not be the late Jesse Helms (my own favorite senator), but Mitch’s been a guy who has been dependable when the chips were down and we as a free people were back-to-back in our very last “foxhole” in 2016 ....

The Turtle has plenty of issues, no doubt, but he’s by far not the worst of the swamp in Washington. Compare him to McCain and you see what I mean.
