Their first order of business is gaining enough power to use war, designer disease and societal breakdown to cull the human population down to a manageable number of slaves, who will be quartered in underground hovels and controlled with drugs and various technologies such as voice-to-skull (V2K).

Advanced robots will protect the elite, and some of the elite will “download” their neural systems into digital form so as to become immortal, in some sense. The elite plan to each dwell in enormous personal estates, worked by slaves and robots. The Earth will be a manicured paradise of discrete estates according to their dreams.

As the robots become more capable, the slaves will become superfluous, and then they will be sealed off permanently in their underground hovel-graves. The elites will derive enormous satisfaction watching the slaves on night-vision video as they gradually suffer in the darkness and die underground, hopeless and broken in spirit.

The satanic mindset of the elites isn’t satisfied with mere immeasurable wealth. “Lesser” beings must suffer greatly and die, so the elites can feel like cruel gods.

I think that many rich people are egotistical and love the socialist model where only a handful of privileged elites get to live in ivory towers while the rabble lives in the dirt. They want to look down on people; this is how they attain a sense of self-worth.

Yes - a goal accelerated by bringing Third World wages and standards of living to the USA via mass immigration (legal and illegal).

But those oppressed rabble can make life very dangerous for the ultra rich in their enclaves. Far better to promote capitalism. The middle class aren’t as likely to attack, since they are already living fairly well.

Indeed.

The world of the future will be ran by a small population of skilled technicians who put in 10-hour work weeks only to ensure the machines stay running.

There will be no need for billions of unskilled, illiterate masses who know only how to procreate, eat food that was given to them, engage in violence, and steal.

Getting from here to there is going to be interesting.

That is what communism is.. there is the ruling class and the rest of us are peons and our meager salaries are their bread...
Young people dont understand what they are asking for.
Experience trumps an argument and younguns havent lived long enough to know life’s lessons

The article was entertaining and worth reading, agreed.

they were preparing for a digital future that had a whole lot less to do with making the world a better place than it did with transcending the human condition altogether

Regarding the quote above - "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" - Tears for Fears. Translated into English and not poetry, everyone wants to be a God, especially in the modern world ("I'll choose my gender"). It's very easy to envision oneself as a minor deity with the capabilities that modern technology puts into our hands.

“When the hedge funders asked me the best way to maintain authority over their security forces after “the event,” I suggested that their best bet would be to treat those people really well, right now. They should be engaging with their security staffs as if they were members of their own family.”

I have to imagine the true super elite probably thought about this problem decades ago. I can half believe they would have started completely isolated boys and girls schools to raise servants and guards up from babies. They would attempt to instill in them obedience and loyalty to the elites family the point they couldn’t even imagine questioning their orders. They would be given no frame of reference to even think anything was wrong with the situation.

There is an obvious solution here:

When things start to look bad, find a down-on-its luck town. Donate half of your wealth to empower the residents: medical care, education, training, small factories/farms, churches, whatever. Just help the town become sufficient in a way that gives every resident a chance to contribute. Then you will have thousands of willing security guards. Americans are not like others - as long as we think the system is fair, we are happy for the rich guy to keep his honestly-earned wealth.

Then, take some of what’s left and buy a lot of yellow cake and some centrifuges.......

Qaddhafi had an estimated wealth of $200 billion, had literally armies of guards to protect him and still ended up dead.

They knew armed guards would be required to protect their compounds from the angry mobs. But how would they pay the guards once money was worthless?

While post-apoplectic imaginings of total chaos are entertaining they are unrealistic

Humans are programmed to be cooperative.

Consider El Salvador, with 4000% inflation. People still are cooperating. Guards still guard the rich. Bankers still bank.

I doubt that even a complete world economic collapse would drive people to a scenario where a social cooperation evaporated.

But if I was to organize for such a scenario I would not hire armed guards but recruit people with useful skills to populate a remote defendable area.

These people would cooperate for mutual benefit, not for pay.

Well it’s hard to diss on the rich for doing something a lot of us are doing on our own which is arming up and storing survival food.

The difference is they also want to store their power over others.

Well the rich may be able to hole up in their stocked up compounds but they will not be able to expand power as they will also have a finite amount of food stores. All them guards gotta eat too.

...they were preparing ... insulating themselves from a very real and present danger of climate change, rising sea levels, mass migrations, global pandemics, nativist panic, and resource depletion.

WRONG.

The ONLY thing these LIBERAL ELITES were worried about was, "What do I do when society STOPS protecting MY privilege?" Liberal elites sense how much they're hated... Good. Monsters who run the plantation have reason to fear...

They should know - when it all falls apart - that last place a human will want to be is in a Martha's Vineyard' type community with paid 'protection' who will desert in a New York Minute.

They knew armed guards would be required to protect their compounds from the angry mobs. But how would they pay the guards once money was worthless?

Gold, jewelry, security for their own families. And if their families are behind them, they’ll be more willing to die for the place than if just working for money.

What would stop the guards from choosing their own leader?

Knowing how to defend yourself. Treating them well enough and being enough of the team that they see you as the leader.

The billionaires considered using special combination locks on the food supply that only they knew.

So either the billionaire has to unlock the food supply every day for the cook or the cook knows, and then it isn’t secret.

Or making guards wear disciplinary collars of some kind in return for their survival...

The men with guns will choose a new leader if you propose something like this. And they’ll be willing to kill you or let you die if they suddenly wake up with shock collars.

Interesting article. Kind of surprised to see it on CNBC.

I question, getting paid for that round table he would be talking about it let alone writing about it.

You would think the real power elite would have thought about all this decades ago and started working on their plan. I wonder why they didn’t make him sign non-disclosure agreements.
