It sounds good, but, knowing how democrats roll, it may just be theater; no different that the other phonies saying things like “I’m keeping an open mind,” or “I’ll decide after hearing him at confirmation,” and other disingenuous drek like that, when they and the rest of the world know they’ll oppose the nominee. My money says manchin will vote to oppose.

Who knows how Manchin will vote, but I guarantee you it will be based purely on political expediency, and right now that’s not looking good for the guy being invited to kiss the posterior of the poster child for red state democrats. More popcorn, please.

Well, they say that Manchin’s base won’t be happy with a yes vote. But then, Trump’s base won’t be happy with a no vote - and Trump’s vote was pretty big in WV a couple of years ago.

But, what do I know - I live in Pennsylvania.

What I do know is that half of the entire Senate Democrat caucus is up for re-election this year, and enough of those seats represent the states the voters of the states that went for Trump that the odds are pretty long against Democrat control of the Senate in ’19. If the Republicans keep or expand their control of the Senate, voting down Brett Kavanaugh could easily look like a pyrrhic victory.
