The indictment can be read here

https://www.justice.gov/file/1080281/download

My takeaways:

- The indictment claims that Guccifer 2.0 was simply a cover for these accused 12 GSU hackers

- The indictment claims that “Guccifer 2.0 wrote to a person who was in regular contact with senior members of the presidential campaign of Donald J. Trump,” ie) Mueller is still actively trying to link this to Trump and will have more indictments coming.

- Mueller is directly stating that Wikileaks got their info from Guccifer 2.0, ie) directly from the Russians. Julian Assange claims the opposite - he rec’d the info from a “non-state actor.” Who is lying?

- Is there any evidence at all these 12 people even exist? In many places, Mueller accuses a particular defendant of doing something like opening a particular VPN account, or transferring bitcoin for some purpose. How can anyone know who was sitting at those computer terminals?

Why would Assange lie about this? He rarely comments about sources, but he was pretty clear that it was not a state actor that was the source of the emails. It is also very curious that he announced a significant reward for information about Seth Rich. I have also heard some technically savvy folks say that the information released by Wikileaks was likely downloaded directly from a server and not via a remote hack over the web. However, I assume it would not be too difficult to change the data to make it look however you wanted.

The most curious thing to me is that this kind of cyber espionage has occurred for decades. We do it. They do it. China does it. Israel, Europe, Iran, North Korea, etc etc etc. Is each nation going to indict the cyber spies of another nation? Same thing with troll farms like the previous big indictment? If that is going to be the standard so be it, but to act like this never occurred before and that we do not do the same thing is absurd.

What about the direct influence the previous administration (using taxpayer funds) had in the Israeli elections? Why is that not talked about more? The CIA has been interfering in democratic elections for decades - simply google it.

My point is that all of this indignation and hysteria was never present before the last election, yet the same activity was taking place and we were guilty of it too. If it is illegal for nation states to conduct this kind of activity why doesn’t anyone tell Soros to stop electioneering?
