That claim on Drudge that “millions” of new Dem voters are registering makes NO sense - if the Rats have such a huge enthusiasm deficit WHY would people be registering to vote with them by the millions? Unless - illegals? Dead registered voters? Pets?

This makes good points about shifting political sentiments. One observation I’ve made, along these lines, is that, yes, more people are registering (D) these days. That is to be expected as immigration swells the ranks of those who now live in the country, yet hate its ethos, past and present.

Meanwhile those who register (R) cannot match those numbers. I find little cause for concern about that picture, because if I were about to register to vote I wouldn’t register (R), either; that organization ceased to speak for me two decades ago. That said, I do believe that the main sentiment out there, the voting sentiment, is very conservative, which bodes well for people who love this country and its ethos, past and present.

Now that the left is in political trouble the MSM is there to present a mixed picture to say nobody has an advantage to raise Democrats spirits and dampen the enthusiasm on our side!

Just when they need to be closing ranks and focusing their fire on the GOP, establishment Democrats in the party leadership are fighting off an insurgent uprising by the socialists in their own hard left wing. That doesn’t exactly invite confidence among the base.

Very true. The kids at the border thing the liberals were pushing, didn’t have the desired effect. And in fact backfired a bit, as now the more radical Dems want to abolish I.C.E. That’s a debate they can’t win in “middle America”.

And then, with media attention on that Cortez (sp?) socialist woman in New York, it’s planting the seeds in more moderate/undecided voters minds, that these Democrats are a hard left party.

they were talking about the New York Yankees

Boston Globe had an interesting article recently -- no one's talking about the Red Sox:

"Here in baseball-savvy Boston, the Olde Towne Team is playing at a near-record pace, but it seems the local sports fans only want to talk about the Celtics and NBA free agency, Tom Brady and Julian Edelman."

(by Dan Shauhgnessy, July 9, 2018)

I've noticed also on national sports talk shows, there's very little talk about MLB.

Obama was a major vote getter cuz he is black and can charm the pants off the stupid.

Demoncraps don't have anyone to get them to the polls.

They had Soros's machines and Hillary which should have brought in the big votes, but that didn't work.

Now they have no one to help them crash the shore.

Boo fricking Hoo!!

It will depend on who the candidates are.

It also will change once fall actually arrives. People pay attention in the last six weeks before the election. Keep trying to push them at this point and they will tune you out.

Exactly. Anyone who uses emotion to pick party association (think...low info voters) requires propaganda to keep them emotionally charged. Ergo, the polls...thus the media always touts polls having Dems in front. These people must be encouraged to vote by making them believe their side has the big mo. Lying to create big mo is simply ends justifying any means. Constructing false enthusiasm is embedded in the DNA of the media/Dems.

You make a very interesting point. I wonder if conservative and moderate voters are more likely to register as independents. I am registered as an independent, not the least of which is because I never wanted any party to be able to take my vote for granted.

I can give a “man on the street” kind of view ... Currently I am on a large camping trip with 60+ people (mostly family) and in the past 48 hours no one has talked politics. But i can tell you i can count on one hand the Repub voters. The rest just vote Dem because ... They always have. And they think Trump is a joke (even though they have benifitted emensly from the tax cuts).

I would like to causion all of you against being over confident about Repub chances and claimes of Dems falling apart.
The Dem voters will be out in droves, they are just not talking politics like they use to when they were in charge.

Here in CA they give you voter registration forms if you get or renew your driver’s license, sign up for unemployment, food stamps, etc. A lot of those registrations may just be from that by people who have never voted and never will.

What a coincidence. Me too.

I was on a large shooting trip at the range, surrounded by hundreds of people, and nobody talked politics. But I can tell you i can count on one hand the rat voters. The rest just vote Rep because...They always have. And they think Hillary is a joke.

It is called summer.

Most people don’t even start thinking about politics until the temperature gets below freezing at night.

Then they get in a foul mood—and that reminds them of the dirtbag politicians.

Remember—Trump’s biggest asset was that most voters in key states hated Hillary’s guts.

“At Long Last Love”

Is it an earthquake or simply a shock?
Is it the good turtle soup or merely the mock?
Is it a cocktail, this feeling of joy?
Or is what I feel the real McCoy?

Is it for all time or simply a lark?
Is it Granada I see or only Asbury Park?
Is it a fancy not worth thinking of?
Or is it at long last love?

You mean Obama’s psychopaths are starting to realize they're full of crap and need a life?

What we do have is millions of people who voted for Obama disillusioned with “hope and change” (which was also Hugo Chavez’s campaign slogan) and who can’t stand the hate coming from the left, who will cross over to the red side of the ticket this November and in 2020.

I saw that post from Drudge and the thing everyone needs to know is that only 32 states require party registration.

18 states do not. My state is one of these 18. When you get to the check in line at the front, they ask you if you want (in the primaries) a Republican or democrat ballot. Your pick right then and there.

In the general election, everyone gets the same ballot.

So the survey is flawed. California, New York and Massachusetts make up more than half of those new democrat voters Drudge is highlighting. Not like those states are going Republican anyways!

I’d rather be with your crowd. I have to keep a low profile every time we do this annual camping trip.
