Media attempts to make Ohio State abuse Jim Jordan's scandal fall flat
Washington Examiner ^ | July 14, 2018 12:01 AM | by Eddie Scarry

Why is it that none of the former Ohio State University wrestlers are claiming to have told Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, they were “sexually abused,” but the media keep saying they did?

And it’s striking how “sexual abuse” is a phrase only used by news reports describing what happened at the school, while none of the school’s former wrestlers who were coached by Jordan are quoted recalling it that way at the time.

Rather than horrific accounts of being physically violated, most of the ex-wrestlers actually describe remembering their experience with the creepy Dr. Richard Strauss as something more like fraternity hazing.

Here are quotes from several of the former wrestlers:

”It was always the joke;” “If someone said, ‘Oh, I’ve got to go see Doc Strauss,’ it would be like, ‘Oh, prepare to drop your pants.’”— Michael Alf to USA Today.

“It was a common uncomfortable joke that Doc was a serial groper.”— Michael DiSabato to CNN.

“Everybody joked about it and talked about it all the time.”— David Range to the Washington Post.

"I have no doubt that Russ and Jim knew, but I never heard it presented in a way that made it need to be addressed in any large sense."— Reid Delman to the Post.

This is GOOD! The character assassination has failed. Now Jordan can get on with getting himself elected Speaker. It’s time for a resolution calling for Ryan to leave now.

They’re calling it “sexual abuse” to make it sound closer to “child abuse” than to what it really is: gay sexual harassment.

Liberals thought they could have Perkins Coie head up the investigation and nobody would notice anything funny about this.

That’s what it was. If the sexual molestation worked for the last GOP candidate for Gov in MS, then this fag angle would be different.

The Soros MSM should have stuck with finding “female victims” who got molested 80 years ago or some BS timeline..

They failed. Jordan should be a wicked replacement for Ryan. Actually even a piece of gun under your shoes is more qualified than Ryan..

They should have let Gloria Allred borrow a couple of strippers from Stormy’s bar to go after him with. Women believe that shit. Look at Alabama and who they elected to the senate.

Exactly. They had a good formula looking for fugly hags who got grabbed 100 years ago, and they had to go the faggot route.

Terrible headline. Perhaps if they had said falls flat, instead of fall flat, it would not have been so confusing. The way it is written it almost sounds like the media was trying to make the scandal fall flat. Instead it is supposed to convey that media attempts to make it a scandal falls flat.

From what I understand, the doctor involved, who is conveniently passed away, did perform some intimate exams. But these were part of the protocol of examining the bodies of male wrestlers.

Anyone ever been involved in wresting, can confirm this?

I’ve been groped similarly, during legitimate medical exams.

The difference between this situation, and the doctor who abused the girl gynasts, is that the gymnastics doctor had no medical reason to touch intimate areas of the girls bodies. Whereas in the case of the wrestlers, it sounds as if that is normal in treating male wrestlers.

How convenient, that this allegedly happened decades ago, and the doctor involved is no longer alive.

They are calling it “sexual abuse” while they are trying to legalize much more sexually abusive behaviour.

I think Jordan might have a lot more than a speakership in his future. I didn’t know much about him until very recently, and happened to see this talk today. He comes across as a very straightforward, honest, and authentic man:

Agreed. Horrendously worded headline.

Had to read it 5 times before I deciphered what it was trying to say.

From the Dem candidate:
‘Jordan’s opponent on the November ballot in Ohio’s 4th Congressional District, Democrat Janet Garrett, released this statement after the NBC News story broke on Tuesday: “Any allegation of sexual abuse against minors – or complicity regarding such abuse – is very serious. That damage cannot be undone. For any teacher, protecting kids is the absolute first priority – and I say that as a former kindergarten teacher. Ohio State has an obligation to get to the bottom of this with a thorough and fair investigation. Jim Jordan has an obligation to cooperate fully with that investigation.”

Not only those qualities you’ve listed, but ponder me this: he’s a two-time NCAA wrestling champ, and tang-soo here informed me Jordan has four Ohio High School (OHSAA) wrestling titles.

The amount of dedication and work in achieving these milestones are beyond my grasp.

He made an important point in that speech about Discipline: ‘doing what you don’t want to do when you don’t want to do it’.

I also appreciated his understanding of risk, and that acceptance of risk is necessary to any important endeavor.
