Trump expected to skip appearance at All-Star Nationals Game (MLB summer classic)

President Trump is not expected to attend the All-Star Game in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, though past presidents have attended the game when it was held in the city.

The Associated Press reported that Trump will likely skip the game after returning home on Tuesday from a trip to Europe ending with his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Tuesday’s game marks the fifth time it will have been held in Washington since 1937. The AP noted that several former presidents have attended the game when the nation’s capital hosted the event.

Former President Eisenhower skipped out on throwing the first pitch in 1956 as he was recovering from surgery, and Vice President Spiro Agnew filled in for former President Nixon in 1969, as Nixon had a trip planned, according to the AP.

The outlet also reported that former Presidents George W. Bush and Obama have also thrown out the ceremonial first pitch at Washington Nationals games.

Obama was the last president to throw the first pitch at an All-Star game, doing so in St. Louis in 2009.

Just off a transAtlantic flight after a busy schedule, and 70 years old. Most would cut him some slack.

Its not like he's flying coach with a pudgy 6 year old kicking the back of his seat the whole way.

Baseball is boring beyond belief.

The only sports more boring than Baseball are Basketball and Golf.

I fail to see why Trump is “obligated” to attend this event.

I don’t know who would expect anyone to go to a ballgame (even the all star game!) after returning from a long, working, trip to Europe, with you know, like all the heads of State, Queen of England, and all that.

I hate, hate, hate how partisan our media has become, ALL Rs are bad, ALL Ds are good. At least Trump gives it back to them in spades, which is amazing. They would have said all these things about Romney, they DID say all these things about Bush, they were vicious to GWB. But those guys just took it. Trump tells them where to get off.

Judge is one of the classiest ball players right now.

He’ll be a World Champion for sure.

Y’all make some good points...he has better things to do, he shouldn’t bother because the area is full of haters, what good would it do, but...

I HAVE TO ADMIT...I. WOULD. LOVE. TO. SEE. PRESIDENT TRUMP THROW THAT BALL AND I AM NOT A BASEBALL FAN.

Remember Obama’s girlish pitch? That is why TRUMP might not want to be at the game.

However, knowing Trump, he will probably show up at the game, throw out the first pitch, hit a few dingers for the crowd, and say “I Love Baseball. It’s part of America’s greatness. It is open to everyone”.

While the Democrats/Leftists Strzok their bats, the Donald will be hitting the balls out of the political park!

Trump wouldn't throw like a homo as Obozo did. Apparently, Trump was being scouted by MLB while in high school.

“Baseball is king in America.”

For sure. I hope President Trump throws out the first pitch next week. And I hope Melania shows up in MLB gear.
