The prospect of instability in Libya caused by the overthrow of Khadaffi by the Muslim Brotherhood, is the reason why I didn’t think it was wise to arm and fund these Islamic louts.
Obama, McCain, Clinton, Graham, (possibly Rubio) each thought we should arm and fund them. Soros already was, and had helped take down the leadership in Tunisia too. And then came Egypt, Mubarak a long term ally of the United States.
The mess in Syria is also attributable to these same brain-trusts. “Oh, we’ll just fund the good al Qaeda.” WTH???
Suddenly with more arms and funds in the region, ISIS mysteriously sprang up.

I seems to me that the West, in general, had a policy of containment since WWII that included tacitly propping up Arab dictators, who in return would try to keep their insane Muslim fanatics in check. From time to time those Dictators failed and the West punished them accordingly but for the most part it worked.
0bama celebrated and facilitated the Arab Spring which destabilized the entire region.
Islam’s long war against the West was unleashed.
It also seems to me that the new policy for some in the West was to arm certain factions of Islam, Sunni or Shiite, and let them focus their efforts killing each other.
A big problem that many in the West do not understand about Islam is that of a Nation State. Islam does not recognize the borders of a State. They only recognize Islam and believe they are entitled to the entire world.
