I have some smaller dark maroon ones that are called blood lilies, but they aren’t surprise/magic lilies. I have one hibiscus bush that bloomed beautiful huge maroon flowers, but it hasn’t bloomed for the past two years. Not sure why. The greenery comes up each year but it just doesn’t bloom. Sad...because they really are about 7” across.
I hope you get more rain showers so the weather will stay cooler for you. I’m sure y’all are tired of the heat AND the humidity that goes along with it. Do you have gardenias? I guess that’s my favorite scent and we can’t grow them here. Saw them everywhere in Georgia where we lived for 2 years and fell in love with them.
What's blooming en masse here at present are the crocosmia. My stepmother, who sent them, calls them coral bell lilies or something like that. It's too bad the blooms are so small because they're very pretty. You have to practically stick your nose up to them to see their beauty.
Gardenias pretty much have to be grown inside here, or at least brought inside during winter. It gets a little too cold for them here. I had one years ago but the cats eventually killed it. :-(
We could get rain in the morning but it will be a roaster in the afternoon. We kind of hope for no rain because it will make it reeeeeeeally steamy outside. UGH!
