Trump Calls Off Cold War II
WND ^ | 07/16/2018 | Pat Buchanan

Posted on 07/17/2018 5:25:07 AM PDT by TheConservator

Beginning his joint press conference with Vladimir Putin, President Trump declared that U.S. relations with Russia have “never been worse.” He then added pointedly, that just changed “about four hours ago.”

It certainly did. With his remarks in Helsinki and at the NATO summit in Brussels, Trump has signaled a historic shift in U.S. foreign policy that may determine the future of this nation and the fate of his presidency. He has rejected the fundamental premises of American foreign policy since the end of the Cold War and blamed our wretched relations with Russia not on Vladimir Putin, but squarely on the U.S. establishment.

In a tweet prior to the meeting, Trump indicted the elites of both parties: “Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!”. . . .

I am not a big fan of Pat Buchanan, but I do think he offers a good explanation here.

Pat gets it.

On the other end of the spectrum, I took a peek over at Kristol's rag. Everyone there is stroking out. LOL!

All he needed to do was give Putin a stern
“Cut it out” like Zer0 did.

We can only hope.

He should have just written them a letter explaining how angry we are

No something more is going on here. Bill Browder is Jewish and a former
US citizen who gave up his citizenship.

“That William Browder might be regarded as controversial is somewhat of an understatement. Many who regard him as a crook serving as a catalyst for the bad policies relating to the U.S.-Russia relationship would like to see him in jail. Israel Shamir, a keen observer of the American-Russian relationship, and celebrated American journalist Robert Parry both think that Browder single-handedly deserves much of the credit for the new Cold War.”

We need not accept Pat’s blame America and the neocons foreign policy views to agree that Russia is now near the bottom of our enemies list, its place having been taken by our ideological enemies, the EU and various socialist and Muslim regimes.

A bit of wishful thinking by Pat. Trump certainly has not justified every Russian action and he has stood up to them. Pat is correct Trump seeks better relations. A few commentators last night recognized Trump needs to get Russia away from alliance with China.

Buchanan is an idiot. There never was a cold war to begin with but a Soviet extention of WW2 which continues today with the deep Soviet state in both Russia and in DC.

Browder sounds like the kingpin alright, but why is no one asking Hillary about the alleged $400 million donation from Browder?

Where did it go?

Pat has been right for a long time.

The neocons have been wrong.

(too bad they didn’t have real strokes)

I think the World Cup was a very good thing for Russia.

They had to offer visa-free entry to fans from all over the world. Likely so many foreigners have never been on Russian soil in peacetime. Unthinkable in the recent past.

Can’t see any way they go back to the bad old days of total isolation. Seek constructive engagement where you can.

The Left absolutely abhors modern , capitalist, nationalist Russia that embraces the best of its cultural heritage. They can’t accept that the Soviet Union which they viewed as the very model of globalism and socialism has failed and no longer exists. What really chokes them is that a nationalistic, capitalistic, prosperous America that secures its own borders and embraces its own cultural heritage has far more in common with modern Russia than it has differences. The globalist, socialist Left absolutely hates Trump and Putin.

It is without doubt that the Progressive Democrats so loudly protesting Trump are the most dangerous enemy to America. The leftists that had their near control yanked away are a far worse and more dangerous enemy of the American republic than Vladimir Putin’s Russia.

A bit of willful ignorance by the Swamp desperately clinging to their 1980s political dogmas.

Someone need to sit the Moron squad on both sides of the DC Media/Political machine and explain to them the Cold War is over. We won.

The hysteric rabid ignorance being screamed about Russia in the “news media” today is simply inexcusable infantile ignorance.

I think the $400 million isn’t one single bundle of money. He couldn’t have sat there and given that to the Hillary campaign without being noticed.

Some of it probably went to the Clinton Foundation. Some probably went into the DNC hands. Some went to various PACs which repackaged it for Hillary ads. Some of it might even be overseas in private accounts and simply waiting to be used later.

The thing I see is that Browder had bought a ringside seat to the Hillary presidency, and expected a ton of favors to be accomplished. His money? Flushed down the toilet. Of everyone cursing there on the day after the defeat....he was probably the loudest.
