Starbucks founder Howard Schultz who is contemplating a presidential run as a Democrat recently attended a private gathering of political donors organized by Mitt Romney, according to a report at Politico.
Politicos Ben Schrekinger writes that the donors, convened by Romney, were unimpressed with the would-be candidate:
Wall Street analysts are wary, and company leadership is nervous, about the effect a Democratic bid by its chairman emeritus could have on Starbucks business, given its bipartisan customer base. If that werent discouraging enough, his retirement last month set off a boomlet of pundits urging him not to run. And his recent appearance at a private gathering of political donors convened by Mitt Romney inspired indifference.
Romney is a Republican nominee for a U.S. Senate seat in Utahs midterm elections, running to replace incumbent Sen. Orrin Hatchs (R-UT) pending retirement.

Why is this news?
It’s just another Democrat supporting another Democrat.
Oh, wait........
Don't nobody try to stop him.
Really is amazing what utterly horrible nominees the GOP has fielded since Reagan and until Trump. Romney makes Hatch look like Barry Goldwater. What a downgrade Utah is making.
So far every Mormon politician has been a backstabbing variant of republican. I wonder why? Maybe their devotion to open borders and Mexico.
And Mitt is a classic. Less than a month ago, Trump had his back. Mitt repays the favor like this.
That’s how much romney hates Trump. And I stood up for him when he ran for pres.
He’s already lost my vote.
Mitt Romney... Total Loser!
Jelly Fish without a backbone.
It runs in his family, after George, his old man , let most
Detroit burn to the ground in ‘67.
Romney.....Useless!
When McCain ran for POTUS, not really trying to win, he and Cindy made a big deal about a dark skinned girl they had "adopted" from somewhere overseas. Since then I haven't seen anything in the media about her, only about the blond daughter.
HE MIGHT EVEN LOSE THE BLACK VOTE TO TRUMP DUE TO THAT STAR BUX INCIDENT!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Mitt, the Mormon Mclame.
“Mitt Romney is a Democrat running as a Republican only to win a Seat. I recall his “virtue signaling” when he released the family photo with one little black child inserted in it. I wonder what ever happened to that child.”
Ridiculous posts like that make us all look like fools.
.
Looking back I am very glad that Romney lost in 2012. Yes it did give us four years of Obama but as we are seeing, most of Obama is being undone, so the damage wasn’t lasting. AND it allowed for Trump to become president. But most of all - the POS Romney lost and that to me is the most satisfying part. Looking back, of course. I didn’t see it that way then.
I’ve thought for awhile that Romney is going to run against President Trump in 2020.
I don’t think the gameplan is for Romney to actually beat Trump but to politically hurt President Trump with the Republican base so that Trump loses to a Democrat. I don’t think this plan will work.
I’ll take it one step further and say that Romney will be the 2020 version of JEB! Raise a lot of money and get very few votes.
Romney, the 2012 REPUBLICAN Presidential nominee, trying to help a guy become the 2020 DEMOCRAT nominee - to unseat the present REPUBLICAN President.
I think that this simple action reveals more about Romney than any other single action, or any word or phrase that he ever uttered. Romney is pond scum - pond scum that is interested ONLY in itself, and in thwarting the decision that the American people made in November of 2016.
ANYONE who votes for this pond scum for Senator is on his level in my book.
I have a strong suspicion that Romney will accept a vp slot in Mr Starbucks campaign. They will run on a “anti-drama, Unify the Country and the parties” platform to try and counter Trumps alleged chaotic leadership, while trying to co-opt his business experience credentials. It’s a decent strategy, but they won’t match up to Trump, and I think Pence can hold his own against Romney in a debate.
