In a piece published in the Wall Street Journal, the former AG for the George W. Bush administration speculated that Russian President Vladimir Putin never thought Trump would win the election and instead wanted to “send a warning” to Clinton that Russia could have information from her hacked personal email server.
“Consider the Justice Department inspector general's report on the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of an unauthorized and vulnerable email server,” Mukasey wrote. “It found that the bureau had concluded the server could well have been penetrated without detection. Recall also that some of the people hacked by GRU [Russia’s military intelligence agency] agents were aware of that server and mentioned it in messages they sent, so that the Russians too were aware of it.”
Mukasey added: “There are some 30,000 emails that Mrs. Clinton did not turn over, on the claim that they were personal and involved such trivia as yoga routines and Chelsea's wedding. If they instead contained damaging information -- say, regarding Clinton Foundation fundraising -- the new president would have taken office in the shadow of a sword dangling from a string held by the Russians.”
Pointing to the indictment last week of 12 GRU agents, the former attorney general also suggested that Putin wanted U.S. intelligence services to discover Russian meddling in the election -- and that if he really wanted agents from Moscow to go undetected he would have used a far more capable source than the former Russian “special-forces types” that make up GRU.

I remember clearly the various polls of 2016, and expert Freeper comments and analysis on all of them. It was quite obvious in Sept-Oct 2016 that OH, WI, PA, WI, MI and FL were all leaning Trump.

Russian meddling, such as it was, changed nothing. The Left, which never went after ChiCom collusion but then that’s just the seriousness of the charges only going one way.
In fact, during the campaign....I kept saying....where's Hillary...she didn't campaign until the last month. Everything else was money raising and making promises.
The Russians WANTED Hilliary to win since they had SO much info on her! She would have been putty in their hands!

The $400 million story...I think has not been laid out yet in any manner to understand.
He couldn’t give her the $400 million direct...otherwise, everyone would know the angle to this. So I think he found a way to give her around $5 to $10 million, with maybe $200 million going to various PACs, who flipped it to Hillary ad’s and support. The remaining money, I’m suggesting...went to PAC money for Senate Democrats and fake GOP Senators. If you dig into this....it’s mostly all PACs that got the money and launched thousands of ‘points of light’ to get the right team in place.
This guy would have gotten ten times that amount paid back in special deals under the table over the eight years of Hillary. Of all the idiots crying on the day after the election...he was probably the biggest one. $400 million wasted on a useless situation. No insider trail to Trump.
Here’s the thing as well, I’ll bet that Putin can name every single PAC that took the money, and how the deal was developed. Right now....Putin is simply grinning and putting this on the table. There are Senators who ran races in 2016, who have something to worry about now.

Holy cow, a plausible theory. Been hoping one of these might turn up.
From what I’ve read, the Podesta breach was definitely spear phishing. Childs play. The DNC breach seems more like an inside job to me as they reportedly took the entire message database. A very difficult and improbable hack for an outsider on a well maintained system. Much, much more likely an insider. Humans are the weakest link in any security system.
I’d bet money Putin is trying to dig up as much dirt on Trump as he can. Putin likes leverage.
Will he find any...does he already have some? Who knows...
