I was surprised when I was watching Liz Wheeler's Tripping Point on OANN news tonight, she was complaining that President Trump didn't put his foot down yesterday and tell (Premier?) Putin that we would not 'tolerate meddling in our elections', as Russia did during the Obama presidency.
My reaction was, 'What Meddling'?
Spying? I'd expect Russia to spy on us - as I'd expect our spies to spy on Russia.

Sending phishing emails to various people and having some DNC officials fall for them? Pffft... makes me wonder how much money the DNC sent to Nigerian scammers, trying to score some big donations. I.e., if you fall for a phishing attack - blame yourself, not the nefarious Russians.
Now if there was evidence of the Russians, or anyone, trying to compromise our voting systems by casting illegal votes (I'm talking to you - Democrats), or trying to 'attack' our voting system (I'm talking to you, Jeh Johnston at Homeland Security) - then I'd agree that we should take severe actions.
But this other stuff is expected. And the idiots that fall for them should be castigated (e.g., keeping classified documents on a server in your bathroom should be a criminal, prosecutable, offense).
If we really care about our voting integrity - and I do - we should require voter ID, regularly purge the voter lists, and criminally prosecute anyone who tries to cast illegal votes. And not waste time chasing malarkey regarding Foreign governments doing what foreign governments are always going to do.
