Agreed, the comic book Batman was never suspected of being gay. Were we niave?

Only with Adam West’s TV portrayal did we begin to raise eyebrows.

I am glad my comic book or super heroes in my era were busy fighting crime that being involved with Gender issues...

Actually, Frederick Wertham's bestselling book of 1950's "Seduction of the Innocent", which attacked comic books of the time, argued exactly that.
