New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called on protesters rallying under the “Abolish ICE” banner to occupy border crossings, airports and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) offices across the country.
Ocasio-Cortez made the comments during an interview on Monday with Democracy Now's Amy Goodman, speaking alongside Barcelona Mayor Ada Colau.
Asked by Goodman about her decision to leave New York to join protests at the U.S.-Mexico border just days before the primary in which she defeated Democratic Representative Joseph Crowley in a stunning upset, Ocasio-Cortez said, "There is no convenient time" to "stand up against human rights violations."
"I may have had a primary three days after I went down there, but we're not going to win if we don't stand for everything," Ocasio-Cortez said. "We have to show people that we're willing to walk the walk and put our money where our mouth is," she said.
"Our nation is in a moral crisis," the politician told Goodman, referring to the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" family separation practice, which saw nearly 3,000 migrant children separated from their families at the border before the practice was rescinded last month.
"Every day that we allow the continued violation of those children's rights is the day that I believe the moral character of the United States is at stake," Ocasio-Cortez said.

She won a primary in a small place and the media acts like she won the presidency.
True to form, when a second level question about any of her "topics" is put to her, the parade of the insipid mind marches.
This gal Ocasio-Cortez, even in the rat party, is going to be a flash in the pan. She didn’t get the memo that Commie Rats can’t really tell the truth about their intentions and beliefs. Maybe she will drag the rest of the rat party down the drain with her.
She should go back to stealing tips at the bar she worked at.

So I’m not surprised that this female is where she is, and she might even get elected to Congress.

This SHOULD be a given. Any public office holder who calls for lawbreaking should be frog marched to the federal pen.
Unfortunately, THEY have made themselves an utterly protected class. Apparently, theres NOBODY who has authority to arrest a member of congress or other government critter, no matter what crime they may commit.

I see no repercussions for her comments on Israel; she was simply spouting the party line (and basically admitted it, when she said she really didn’t know anything about it). She was installed to run a ghetto, not dictate national policy (as Pelosi quickly made clear); those positions are reserved for wealthy white overseers of the Dem mob - like Pelosi.
Inciting riots, acting like the a-hole she is, let's just see what happens when they try to disrupt airports. I hate winter, but November can't come soon enough. Thanks Enlightened1.
