Must look into this.
"Go F yourself."

"The Independence Law Center filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of the farmers against the borough alleging an egregious violation of the U.S. Constitution.
According to the lawsuit, the Fetterolfs were threatened with fines of $500 per day plus court costs for having Bible studies at their home, having meetings where religious songs are sung, conducting any religious retreats for church leaders or seminary students or conducting any religious fundraisers.
The borough has no business overseeing a group of people reading and discussing a book together on private property even if that book is the Bible, attorney Randall Wenger said in a statement.
The lawsuit accuses the government leaders of violating religious freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and equal protection.
Government should not target religious activities for punishment, particularly when similar secular activities are permitted, attorney Jeremy Samek said. In America, no government can categorically ban people from assembling to worship on ones property."
They should counter sue the town for attorney fees and stress. This isn’t anything but harassment.
“This is very close to where we live above Pittsburgh, up and over a few hills and there the farm is.”
And you didn’t even know you had something menacing so close by.
They should put up some balloons and a sign that says “Party Here” and throw some booze and beer bottle around at the end of the driveway to throw them off track. (Sarc off)
Crap like this makes my head want to explode. My grandmother would have been in jail because she was always having people over to sing hymns and pray in between church meetings.
Today the meme for the Left is (the Sewickley Heights Borough council) wakes up at night in a cold sweat worrying that somewhere someone is praying
Allegheny county is SO f'd !
We’ll be driving through that neck of the woods on our way to Buffalo in a few days. We Must be vigilant to avoid of any of these evildoers who might cross our path. Bible Study People... how menacing.
(However, covens wouldn’t be a problem, probably.)
I’d suggest the owners of the farm stop the Bible studies and start a meth lab. Very quiet operation. Perhaps the neighbors will then STFU.
this stuff happens in our area.
local govt most always gets involved because of complaining neighbors.
would be good to hear both sides.
Isn’t there a muslim camp in that area where they teach terrorist tactics?
As usual, if you see a headline that makes you mad and makes you want to click on it and make angry comments, stop and look and get a few more details. It took me a little while to figure this out.
This story sounds fishy. I wonder if they were operating something other than a farm or “church”.
Do not comply.
This is an attack on “our” 1st amendment rights. I guess the government should imprison you for dropping a “F” bomb.
I do not know if this is true or not, but I was told by a veteran, that a veteran can get what is called a peddlers license and you can sell anything you want where ever.
If this guy is a vet, he can get that license-its free. All he needs is to go down to the county offices with your discharge papers and the HAVE TO issue it.
Clear violation of First Amendment rights.
Just discovered a similar situation here in Rio Rancho, NM.
It seems that if you set up a table at an event and sell anything - cookies, crafts, whatever - you are supposed to pay a $100 per table fee to the city. The only exception on the books is for city-sponsored functions.
We have two big gatherings annually in town, both city sponsored, but that is it.
The city has been smart in not enforcing this ordinance in conjunction with church events, but they technically have a right to do so.
I am on the board of the local Chamber of Commerce. We were looking at hosting a new event - Tails and Ales - here in town. It would involve local breweries offering samples and selling their wares, and local pet supply stores doing the same. The $100 a table fee has forced us to move the event to Albuquerque, where the permitting and approval process has been a breeze.
When I confronted a city official about the ordinance, I was informed that it existed to protect local businesses from unfair competition.
So we protect our local businesses by discouraging them from participating in festivals and events.
Genius.
Let me guess. This is over parking congestion?
