Michael Cohen Secretly Taped Trump Discussing Payment to Playboy Model
NYT ^ | 07/20/2018 | Matt Apuzzo, Maggie Haberman, Michael S. Schmidt

Posted on 07/20/2018 9:04:41 AM PDT by yesthatjallen

President Trump’s longtime lawyer, Michael D. Cohen, secretly recorded a conversation with Mr. Trump two months before the presidential election in which they discussed payments to a former Playboy model who said she had an affair with Mr. Trump, according to lawyers and others familiar with the recording.

The F.B.I. seized the recording this year during a raid on Mr. Cohen’s office. The Justice Department is investigating Mr. Cohen’s involvement in paying women to tamp down embarrassing news stories about Mr. Trump ahead of the 2016 election. Prosecutors want to know whether that violated federal campaign finance laws, and any conversation with Mr. Trump about those payments would be of keen interest to them.

I don’t either but this is a probably powerful weapon in the hands of the American Federal police state.

I’m only telling you what is out there.

A few months ago it was 28,000 sealed indictments.

I’m not saying that what you offered up here doesn’t make sense.

I think there’s a way to verify the indictments, but I’m not knowledgeable about exactly how to do that.

Okay, I gave it a go. This is what I found.

As of early April this article appeared on Squawker.

It doesn’t talk about what all the indictments are for, but it does peg the number at about 28,000 at that point, and growing rather fast.

The site loaded rather slow for me the first time, so you may need to hang in there.

Wow. The narrative that Trump is a traitor is already running out of steam! Time to recycle old news. Hasn’t it already been established that payment was never made and that Trump did not initiate this. So much winning!

Correction:

I had entered the 28,000 figure in the drafting of my post, intending to verify the number before posting.

Then I hit post instead of preview.

The number as 24,500 and growing.

“So we now have no attorney client privilege in this country?

Only Hillary and Bill and the Democrat Party have attorney-client privilege.

Everyone else is subject to lawyer-office raids in order to fish for information.

IMHO

Correction: (more)

I had put that 28,000 number in primarily because another site had claimed the number was around 28,000 at some point, and that stuck with me as I drafted my post.

Depends on what state you’re in. If they’re looking at an FEC violation I don’t know what is acceptable.

Now that Russian collusion, meddling, hacking is falling apart the Dems have to go back and hitch their wagons to porn stars.

Playboy Bunny, not Hooker. Most men would admire/be jealous but admire his taste in fine looking women:-) Again I don’t really care about his personal life before he became president.

Trump has the money to do what he wants to with it... even give it to a less than good example stormy.. and campaign or not, he can do any amount of foolishness.. his life has not been in politics and thus probably had no need to hide anything until he got in the political arena and then everything was multiplied by 10 by the media.
obama is worse than worse, ...all of them in that bunch are not saints... the media have made such a hard hitting, never letting up, attacks... so go ahead and talk about this for a week.. no one cares!!

If whoopie cam talk like she did/does, and throw someone off the program... and swear at the someone.. and blame all the hate and attacks on the right... they are wearing thin.. who cares about anything in that bunch of lefties.

Saw a tape of obama on Fox and was reminded he sure thinks he’s one special gift and everyone should love him... He’s up to no good!

In the 90s, we stood against rape, assault, infidelity and the use of private eyes to intimidate and silence witnesses.

During the "Bimbo Eruption" phase, before Clinton was elected, Democrats said they didn't care about infidelity. Why? Because they did not want their man damaged. They did not care about anything else. They knew it was wrong, and they did it anyway. Republicans said, rightly, that "character mattered". It even became the Republican Party's catch phrase for a time. This was all well before the rape charges. Had the Democrats not accepted that serial philanderer, the country would not have had to later suffer through having to deal with a rapist and perjurer President.

At the present we stand against infidelity.

No, most don't. Just skim through the comments on this thread. Most people on this site don't care about infidelity any longer. We have all now accepted the early 90s Democrat view of moral expectations for our office holders. It's our new default position.

Not just Attorneys, anyone employed by a Clinton seems to be allowed to invoke it.

Finally, something else about those lawyers. I nearly fell out of my chair upon reading the very first paragraph of the notes of Clinton’s interview, which identifies the lawyers for Clinton who were permitted to be present for the interview. Among them is Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s longtime confidant and chief-of-staff at the State Department.

Readers may recall that I suggested back in May that “the fix” was in in the investigation of the Clinton emails. The reason was that the Justice Department was allowing Cheryl Mills – a witness, if not a subject, of the investigation – to invoke attorney-client privilege on behalf of Mrs. Clinton in order to thwart the FBI’s attempt to inquire into the procedure used to produce Clinton’s emails to the State Department. Mills was a participant in that procedure – and it is the procedure in which, we now know, well over 30,000 emails were attempted to be destroyed, including several thousand that contained government-related business.

Trump is not Political so he can’t be weakened that way. Trump is personal with his voters. He knows somehow what they want and tries to get it done as best as he can. Swamp has never worked for him, they’ve worked for themselves and their OWNERS. That is why the Corp Tax Cut is permanent and the Citizenry Tax cut is not!

I for one am beyond weary. Every day it is something else with these haters. Every single day. They just won’t let the man alone and try to do good for the country. The hatred, the personal destruction, the liars, the cheats, the criminals...what a so sad state of affairs we are in this country.
