“have been warning the human genome is crumbling and the damage is likely irreversible”

Makes me wonder if drug use before and during inception, maternity, childhood and adolescence have anything to do with that.

Primitive societies appear to be doing well.

Human Genome is declining. One factor that has not yet been mentioned is that...long ago the weak genome person would die before being able to reproduce. Then, along came modern medicine with vaccines, dentistry, antibiotics, and surgery for a host of problems. Thus people with weak genomes are living long enough to reproduce and their weak genomes are going into the future gene pools. Science fiction movies are constantly trying to create super humans who can resist disease and have stronger athletic abilities. And of course to have better IQs as well. There are now a days many gene splicing companies that are trying to cure genetic disorders. 200 years into the future modern medicine may need gene splicing just to keep the human race alive.
