All it would have taken was commonsense on everybody but that seems to be a lost art.
The grievance mob is unrelenting and white people are still terrified of being called racist. Easier for the corporate bosses to simply fire this guy than try to defend him, even if he was in the right.

And they would rather fire two white managers than have a "woman of color" go on accusing them of being racists?
All company rules must be firmly enforced unless a person of color complains about them.
