How will we know if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s statement is correct — that Democratic-Socialism now represents the Democratic mainstream?
If the leaders of what is now known as the Democratic party — Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, etc. — do not make a point of publicly standing up to contradict Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s statement, we can assume they support it.
And therefore we can safely start referring to the party of Nancy Pelosi and company as the Democratic-Socialist party with no fear of contradiction.
