snoringbear, you might want to refrain from making assumptions. There could be several reasons why this occurred and it is best to wait for the FAA/NTSB investigation to be completed before making wild statements, especially about the capabilities of the pilots. Those flying are my friends and they are quality pilots. I have watched the videos over and over since this happened this morning and can see several indications of possible causes but I would never give into speculating publicly or post about it on a national forum. LadyO, glad that none of your friends werent killed and per the article all will be ok although one was severely burned. Concerning the incident and my post; I stated it was my guess. And, thereby I freely admit I could be wrong. But, I doubt that I am. Either way, just a polite fyi; this forum is a place where opinions are freely expressed. And, I will continue to do that. Btw, Im not a pilot but when I was in the army I flew in the DC-3 a few times back in the sixties when a small regional airline, Trans Texas, was still in existence. It was quite an experience; flew back and forth between Dallas Love and Hot Springs. Was like riding a bus, picked up and let off passengers about three or four times on a three hundred mile trip. Quite, the experience, lol 😝. Anyway, peace sister, take care of yourself 😊.
