Dershowitz slams heavily redacted FISA docs
FOX ^ | 7/22/2018 | Andrew O'Reilly

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz slammed the massive number of redactions in the set of documents the Justice Department released on Saturday related to the wiretapping of a onetime campaign adviser to President Trump.

Appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Dershowitz argued that the vast majority of redactions were meant “to cover up people’s incompetence” and not any top secret information and that the American public deserves to know what has been hidden from view.

“We need to know more, not less,” Dershowitz said. “We need less redactions.”

The documents, which were released to the New York Times and several other media organizations that had filed Freedom of Information Act lawsuits to obtain them, have been at the center of a political firestorm for months, as some Republicans have suggested that the FBI misrepresented evidence to obtain warrants to monitor Trump’s former adviser Carter Page as they investigated possible collusion between the Russian government and the Trump aide.

I'm hoping that Trump declares that all documents be released to the public, un-redacted on October 1st. Watch the SHTF just in time for the November elections.

Trump has the authority to fix this. Even if doesn’t order the removal of the redactions he can fire Rosenweasel for failing to comply.. again.

Seems like the only way to get the information is for the President to demand that the agencies comply w/o any redactions. Even if it means that he has to have a “TS cleared” staffer review every redacted document and remove any and all redactions save those that can be clearly identified as having national security ramifications. For me, this seems to be a real blind spot for Trump.

Nothing new here. It has been the Deep State protecting the Deep State (including Obama and Hitlery) and they used false information as the basis for a corrupt and illegal investigation.

The play has passed to Trump. He has to nail these bastards once and for all. Release it all for America to see and read.

Trump can and should order them unredacted himself and should do so after an independent review to insure no real secrets affecting NATIONAL SECURITY, if any. I really dont understand his delay. But one thing is clear . Sally yates, comey, stroke, and rosenstien knowing withheld the known fact that the Steele fake dossier was paid for by hillary. And they falsely asserted that Carter Page was a russian spy knowing that was a lie. That is perjury to a court. IMO

Not incompetence, it’s meant to cover up criminal conduct in the attempted overthrow of the government by the intelligence agencies.

It’s unbelievable these partisan dem operatives do a better job defending a rep POTUS then a repub congress. If they lose the house our senate in this environment, that will be the end of the gop.

Dershowitz has never been a partisan operative in the paid-for sense. He pursues what he genuinely believes in.

Now he’s getting the ass end of left-wing totalitarian groupthink, being shunned by his former comrades specifically for NOT being a team player.

It will be interesting to see how he reacts to this over the long term. Over the short term it seems to have opened his eyes quite a bit to what he, pursuing his own independent sense of right and wrong, got in bed with.

We are way past national security. The biggest threat to national security has become secrecy itself.
