FISA warrant application supports Nunes memo
The Washington Examiner ^ | July 22, 2018 | Byron York

The weekend release of a highly-redacted version of the FBI's application for a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant to wiretap onetime Trump foreign policy adviser Carter Page has renewed the argument over the Nunes memo — the brief report produced by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes detailing problems in the application. From the time of the memo's release in February, Democrats and some in the press have denounced it as a collection of lies and mischaracterizations. On Saturday night, the denouncing started again. "The only thing the newly released FISA documents show is that Republicans have been lying for months," the lefty think tank Center for American Progress said in a typical response.

Now, however, we have both the memo and the FISA application, if in a blacked-out state. We can compare the two. And doing so shows the Nunes memo was overwhelmingly accurate. Perhaps some Democrats do not believe it should have been written, or they dispute what it included and left out, or they do not agree with its conclusions, but it was in fact accurate.

The memo comprised a short introduction followed by 13 substantive paragraphs. Here is a look at each one.

The FISA Warrant Application was released this weekend, but the response to Judicial Watch was sent via Fed Ex, and selected releases were made by the DOJ to the media, including The New York Times. This gave the NYT the jump and they released the redacted application on Friday. What followed was an attack on Nunes and the Republicans and a defense of the likely illegal actions of the FBI and the DOJ. Byron York corrects the record and lays out what is really going on. More proof that the media are co-conspirators in the effort to overthrow our government.

So what are our elected officials going to do about it, besides sitting around with their thumbs up their bums whining about it?

Anyone who thinks the DOJ and FBI are “pulling back” or becoming less corrupt in the face of unprecedented revelations and criticism is naive. Their political vendetta against Trump is STILL intact and functioning as before. Like the IRS, these agencies were weaponized to go after political opponents.

Trump had better get serious about draining the Swamp, starting with the FBI and DOJ.

ALL THE MORE REASON to declassify all related documents. Let the citizens of America see what went on.

“...vendetta against Trump is STILL intact and functioning...”

Yes indeed. The Mueller witch hunt is proof. The President has to start firing the members of the corrupt shadow government cabal.

He has to take action rather than just tweeting about it.

I would assume that nothing is being done because of fear of the enemedia and the RINOs. Perhaps it is time for the President to start firing people and let the consequences play out.

Bureaucrats do not behave like this unless they are certain that someone has their back. Supporters of Trump are very thin within the ranks of the Washington elites. The disdain for Trump within Washington is not mirrored in the rest of the country except for the usual Democrat crazies. Expect a big surprise come November.

Both true. But consider this: the anti-Trump forces are well aware of the upcoming elections and will be coming out in full force against him. Using the power and resources of their agencies to do it.

In my view, Trump is allowing his avowed enemies to advance on him. And they are going to launch a full on offensive very soon.

Think about the fact that these people were brazen enough to organize a coup against a president. Yes, they tried to derail the election, but when that didn’t work they kept on going. Never underestimate your enemies. They are not going away unless Trump removes them.
