A top Iranian general bragged on Monday that America 'won't dare' attack despite Trump threatening 'consequences few throughout history have ever suffered' a tweet-storm late on Sunday night.
General Gholam Hossein Gheibparvar, chief of the Revolutionary Guard's Basij force, dismissed Trump's message as little more than 'psychological warfare.'
He added: 'We will never abandon our revolutionary beliefs. We will resist pressure from enemies.

If President Trump goes hostile on Iran, I hope he initiates with unconventional attacks. For instance, right now Iran is having a drought, and it is heavily dependent on a large number of major dams for water and hydroelectric power. Were several of them to fail, Iran would quickly come to a halt.
The best part is it could be done with “plausible deniability”, or the evidence could point in several directions, such as at the Chinese, or a Sunni terrorist org.

Trump is not saying he would start a war, but that he would retaliate with force.
I think Trump miss-stepped a bit on his response. Trump threatened total war if the Iranian government merely made another threat.
That is not realistic and the President is going to have to back pedal a bit after the next threat.
I think we need to disengage from the ME - except for Iran. Their nuclear program combined with their particularly nutty flavor of islam (the Mahdi will appear out of chaos) has to be dealt with definitively.
The suggestions regarding Kharg island and their dams are excellent. But we need to obliterate their ability to build nukes. By any means necessary.
First we must realign with Russia so we can present a homogeneous policy toward the ME and islam in general - and so we can avoid WWIII.
Kharg Island was a target in the old F-15 Strike Eagle game in the 1980’s.

I agree.Trump is just responding to this statement from Rouanni. “‘With us is the peace of all peace or the mother of all wars”. That does not even imply an attack on our shores. Trump responds in the abstract and that is good. This is not a pretext for war.
Iran is basically saying” if you attack us, you get the “mother of all wars”. I don’t get any threat to you,
The USA projects strength and this brings out the cockroaches. Projection is all we will need because Iran will one day implode like the Soviet Union did.
