House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) urged President Donald Trump Monday to declassify all of the FBI’s heavily redacted Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant applications to spy on Carter Page, the chief executive’s former 2016 campaign foreign policy adviser.

I heard that the four judges were Republican-appointees.

Since the Judges are supposed to be anonymous, how could anyone know that?
And, even if they were... their “destroy Trump” mentality would win out over anything else. Look at Mueller, another “dyed-in-the-wool” Republican, and Comey (what a joke).

I am a fan of Dan Bongino, and he has consistently delivered great explanations for all this.

Whether they are Republican appointees or not, there is no doubt they were on close personal terms with both Strzok and Lisa Page as these texts indicate, calling one of the judges “Rudy” (Rudolph Contreras):

**********************************************
Page: “Rudy is on the FISC! Did you know that? Just appointed two months ago.” At that point, the pair continues to discuss other issues but comes back to Contreras, “I did. We talked about it before and after. I need to get together with him.”

Page: “Thought of it because you had to Google FISC judges and him there. I’m telling you.”

Strzok: “….She brought up a good point about being circumspect in talking to him in terms of not placing him into a situation where he’d have to recuse himself.”

Page: “I can’t imagine you either one of you could talk about anything in detail meaningful enough to warrant recusal.” Page then goes back to discussing a different issue saying, “Anyway, maybe you meant to, but didn’t.’

Strzok: “Really? Rudy. I’m in charge of espionage for the FBI. Any espionage FISA comes before him, what should he do? Given his friend oversees them?”

Page: “Standards for recusal are quite high. I just don’t think this poses an actual conflict. And he doesn’t know what you do?”

Strzok: “Generally he does know what I do. Not the level or scope or area but he’s super thoughtful and rigorous about ethics and conflicts. (redacted) suggested a social setting with others would probably be better than a one on one meeting. I’m sorry, I’m just going to have to invite you to that cocktail party. Of course, you’ll be there. Have to come up with some other work people cover for action.”

Page: “Why more? Six is a perfectly fine dinner party.”
**********************************************

That said, my take on the judges given the release of the FISA request...it can ONLY be one of two things, there are no other options:

1.) The FISA judges are incompetent rubber stamp judges

2.) The FISA judges were in on all of this.

There are no other options.

Go ahead, call me an idiot.

OK, you are an idiot.

BUT, you could be absolutely correct.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

There is an ongoing investigation into the FISA abuse. Let the process work. That is the beauty of this....if the process doesn’t work, then Trump can release everything. The problem with just releasing everything is the media spin which may get in the way for the majority of the public to really see and understand what happened.

Why play all your cards before you have to??? For someone who shows little restraint on twitter, Trump is being wonderfully patient on the big things. He gives off the public perception as being impulsive and not well thought out....which is true on the little things. He is cool and cunning on the big stuff. Really fun to watch.

Yes, Nunes is definitely one of the good guys!

I’ve had a couple of private conversations with him over the past 14 months. He is serious and he is pissed. That BS ethics “investigation” prompted by Adam Schiffhead REALLY pissed him off. He has yet to publicly reveal his ultimate focus; the real reason why he went to the NSC last year to retrieve information he couldn’t get from the Intelligence Community.

I think he’s been warned by the real Attorney General — Rosenstein. It’s obvious when Rosenstein himself was barking about the 12 fresh Russian indictments and raining on PDJT’s parade..

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That will be interesting for sure, when finally disclosed. He’s looked really “pissed” when being interviewed a few times. Schiffty is such a scumbag - don’t know how Nunes stands to even look at him in committee.

President Trump has a constitutional right to do this. Why doesn't he?

Because he is waiting till Fall to counter whatever October Surprise stink bomb Robert Mueller has up his sleeve.

Point is, does POTUS want to end it? As the muler fiasco drags on, POTUS makes hay

I would think that Trump could make more hay showing everybody the FISA abuse that is in the documents.

Looks like to me you think there isn't much in the documents.

people have become accustomed to instant gratification, severely exacerbated by i-stuff.

Please stop with the "it's instant gratification" nonsense. It's been a year and a half now, and the Deep State still firmly controls the DOJ and the FBI. That's a long time. People are right to complain.

If you think that it's a timing issue, then that's fine and dandy. I tend to think so too. But it is certainly appropriate to complain about the DOJ stonewalling the documents for such a long period of time and the president not yet demanding that they be released.
