The Berlin wall came down not because the US outspent the Soviet Union. That's the cover for the real story. The Soviets came up with a better plan based on Chinese philosophy of needing 100 or more years to defeat a superior foe. Infiltrate academia, the media, a political party of more, entertainment and poison the citizenry slowly over time.
The Soviets were acting on that plan long before the Wall came down. I would say their plan is still proceeding nicely, since all the manufactured outrage and lies against the President come straight from the Soviet Socialist strategy book.
