Comments by President Trump have robbed James Wolfe of a fair trial, attorneys for the former Senate staffer said in court filings late Monday.
Mr. Wolfes attorneys have requested a federal judge in Washington, D.C. impose a gag order on the president, barring from talking about the case in the future. They say it is imperative to stop Mr. Trump from talking about the case because in comments last he month he accused Mr. Wolfe of leaking classified documents, a crime for which he has not been charged.
Prosecutors have alleged Mr. Wolfe made false statements about his personal relationships with reporters to FBI agents investigating the leak of sensitive intelligence information. They have not accused him of leaking any information.
The President, having proclaimed Mr. Wolfe to be guilty, compounded the prejudice by suggesting that he was guilty of leaking classified information, a far more serious crime that he is not facing, wrote Benjamin Klubes, one of Mr. Wolfes attorneys.
Shortly after Mr. Wolfes June arrest, Mr. Trump called him a very important leaker. Later, he made a more direct comment to reporters.

stuck pit screeches
A gag order on the President of the United States? No court has jurisdiction for that. Not even the Supreme Court, which has original jurisdiction in matters between states and the Federal govt.
What a joke.
HaHa...first laugh of my day...
List Wolfe/Watkins joke here.
They get caught then they squeal like a pig.
"... and the horse you rode in on!
It’s being reported that Wolfe leaked the Carter Page FISA application too. Hopefully, Wolfe’s days of complaining he hasn’t been charged with leaking classified data will soon be over.
Seems to me it's just semantics....
Mr. Wolfe made false statements about his personal relationships with ***reporters*** to FBI agents investigating the leak of sensitive intelligence information.
Guess why Russia loves reporters they will flip at the drop of a hat cheap and easy.
“””Its being reported that Wolfe leaked the Carter Page FISA application too”””
Too many coincidental actions to ignore the strong possibility that Wolfe gave his 20 something girl friend a copy of the first FISA warrant.
The copy released to the Senate, as procured by Wolfe, had specific defects introduced as a tracking measure for leak detection purposes. Wolfe was the controlling authority tasked with handling responsibility for the classified material.
There were 82 pages. His phone has 82 image files sent in the clear to the reporter. Two-way text messages discussing the classified material accompanied the image files. What more is needed?

1. OK, Here’s the story that will break in the news cycle, probably starting tomorrow. Senate Staffer James Wolfe sent Ali Watkins an unredacted copy of the @carterwpage FISA Application in 2017. (and a more explosive aspect)
Admiral Rogers and Dan Coats have been leak tracing. smile
I check CTH frequently — it’s almost always ahead of the curve. Sundance occasionally overdrives the headlights, but I admire his/her guts and work ethic.
I am hoping that the Wolfe story eventually exposes the entire scope of what he passed along. Although the Steele Dossier is not a classified document, I eagerly await proof that Saint McCain (emeritus chairman of SSCI) passed it to Wolfe, who passed it to Watkins, who worked for BuzzFeed, just coincidentally at the time BF published it. It is frustrating that Wolfe is charged with lying to the FBI instead of leaking the docs.
If the unredacted FISA app was given to Watkins, and by her to other journalists/Democrats, that might be an argument for declassifying it for the rest of us. And what are the implications of SSCI having the Carter Page FISA app for ages while Nunes and others sought a copy in vain from DoJ?
true that
