And when she decides to have a kid, she’ll want a man with a real job to pay her bills. And if she get bored again and decides it’s time to go back to work, she’ll expect to be able to step into her old job but at the level she’d be had she never left. If her peers who stayed are VPs, she should be too.

They don’t think that far ahead. They think they will be young, single, healthy, and independent forever. This is the generation that never had to do anything for themselves until they got out of college, and they can’t handle responsibility.
