The author has never heard of the St. Lawrence Seaway. Or the Panama Canal, for that matter. A yacht like that is used for more than bass fishing.

The Blade seems to be hinting that there is a nefarious reason that the boat was in northern Ohio!
That boat is owned by a United States of America citizen, free to be sailed anywhere it is legal to sail.
