More repeating of EU lies. There was already a trade war being waged by the EU on the US; what the EU did not want was for the USA to start fighting back. Never mind his balanced, reciprocal basis rhetoric, which really means we dictate and the USA complies without question.

I can see Macron's point. If you got a sweetheart deal, why give it up unless you are forced to?

Too late, dickhead. President Trump gave you an offer and you ignored him. As always the French will lose. They are good at it.

If France was independent of the EU, it wouldnt be bound by deals you dont like Mr. Macron.

Well, the curious thing is that the 28 nations of the EU gave the Commission all authority over trading and talks....years ago. Merkel’s orders to Juncker was to resolve this for the sake of Germany, and that’s what he’s doing.
France can get all peeved but this is the job of the EU now. France and the rest of the countries might as well dismiss their trade agencies because they have no authority...it’s all with the EU.

Macron ‘not in favor’ of vast new US-EU trade deal>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You bet he’s not in favor. French farmers would turn the French countryside upside down, they have been protected and subsidized since WWII.
I can hardly wait until Macron decides to leave the EU.

Fortunately the EU has reduced the heads of the individual countries to mere cheerleaders.
So he can just complain to his wifemom for all the difference it makes.

Well Emmanuel, under the EU system you don't count. The EU imposes the rules, not you nor France. Next time be careful what you create.
of course Emmanuel is scared that the French worker cannot compete with ours! By the way where are you going for your month of August vacation Emmanuel? That's the way to compete, a month long vacation for all of France.

The US-EU trade deal is a righteous attack on the welfare state in Europe.
The French just might have to work hard for a living.
