[!!EXTREME virtue signal alert!!] Actress Anne Hathaway called out white privilege in an Instagram post on Thursday in memory of the woman killed in an unprovoked stabbing at an Oakland train station on Sunday night.
Hathaway, 35, posted a picture of Nia Wilson, 18, the woman who died after being stabbed to death at a BART station platform. Wilsons sister was also wounded in the attack. John Cowell, 27, was arrested in connection with the incident on Monday following a manhunt.
The murder of Nia Wilson- may she rest in the power and peace she was denied here- is unspeakable AND MUST NOT be met with silence," the Academy Award-winning actress wrote. "She is not a hash tag; she was a black woman and she was murdered in cold blood by a white man.
White people including me, including you must take into the marrow of our privileged bones the truth that ALL black people fear for their lives DAILY in America and have done so for GENERATIONS. White people DO NOT have equivalence for this fear of violence, she continued.
Hathaway then called on others to ask our [white] selves how decent are we really?
Not in our intent, but in our actions? In our lack of action? Peace and prayers and JUSTICE for Nia and the Wilson family xx, she concluded.
Hathaway noted that the comments section would be closed for the post.

12% of the population, 50% of the crime, much of it violent.
Funny sort of ‘privilege.’
The stupid...it hurts.
Whose “privilege” is invoked when all the blacks kill other blacks, in a typical weekend in Chicago?
She's pushing 40 and hasn't had a hit since 'Batman'.
'Oceans 8' bombed so she's desperate to stay in the headlines.
My Irish ancestors would surely have love to know how privileged they really were. Whitest skin on earth, treated less than animals....if they only knew how privileged they were! The British kept it secret I suppose.
I checked my privilege. My current situation is a result of hard work and good life choices.
We should accuse her of beauty privilege. She isnt where she is because she can act.
Let this dopey ditz ride the BART for a while; she’ll learn quickly who is “privileged”. At least when she is set upon by the Simbas she’ll get coverage, unlike the countless other nameless white victims of our low-profile race war.
Anyone who lives in a black neighborhood fears for their lives on a daily basis.
That’s not the fault of the white people who live in different neighborhoods.
The average white person in this Republic has white privilege but Hollywood elites like her don’t.
AWKWAFINA!!! WTFINA is that.......
“Privilege” is a word. It has meaning. My first and foremost “privilege” is that Jesus chose me. My skin color is just an attribute that brings with it strengths and weaknesses. Would I have white privilege if I lived in Japan, Jordan or South Africa? If I was a white man living in Iraq, I might want to move to a place where my skin color was a bit more of a positive attribute relative to my countrymen like, say, the US. And if I were black, I might want to do the same, if I thought it would help.
White privilege is, actually, what they call a “dog whistle” phrase. It is trying to turn a positive thing into a negative thing. Because I live where I live, I love being white. I love being male. It is a man’s world and where I live, all other things being equal, being white is awesome!
Beauty and brains do not necessarily co-mingle.
If there is a war then there are collaborators, namely the administrators of PUBLIC transit (as in publicly funded) who refuse to release surveillance tape of the many incidents of violence, assault, mugging, etc. because they would ‘inflame’ the public.
The stupidity revealed by anne hathaway is mind numbing.
Why did The Reverend Jackson cross the street when he was on a stroll? It wasn’t because there were white guys on the same side as he was.
good lord!!! Maybe she’s angry cause she named AWKWAFINA.
Virtue Signaling fail.
