DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. - There are major new developments involving the dancing doctor, Windell Boutte.
The embattled Gwinnett dermatologist agreed Friday to give up her medical license for at least 2 1/2 years.
Channel 2 Consumer Investigator Jim Strickland confirmed the consent order is stamped June 29 and Boutte signed it on Thursday.
Just like the emergency suspension handed down three weeks ago, this formal action against Boutte doesnt mention the viral videos that made her international news.
It does mention the case of Sherita Cox and the punctured lung that deflated Bouttes surgical empire.
I think things happen for a reason and maybe it was my time to help somebody, Cox told Strickland.
The board found Boutte failed to conform to minimal standards in several standards in seven cases.
It found a surgical assistant, not a doctor, did more of the surgery on brain-damaged patient Icilma Cornelius.
The order also says Boutte can no longer refer to herself as a doctor, a physician or an M.D. until she gets her license back.
Boutte has also agreed to drop her court case asking a judge for her license back.

I did a search; no one had put up this story when it came out 17 days ago.
You may recall that this woman was suing the state medical board over their action to suspend her license.
She gets to go back to her antics in 2.5 years, although it will be interesting to see if she can get insurance for her practice.
Of course, I would imagine we'll never hear about it. She'll probably change her name and go practice in south Florida, or some such.

I have maintained that a university degree is no proof of intelligence.
I rest my case.

There are 535 additional cases in DC to confirm your hypothesis.

Good luck on getting her license back
Credentialing is a b.tch

She's referred to as a Dermatologist and a Plastic Surgeon which is a bit confusing. But during my experience in academic medicine over 25 years I don't recall a single such physician/surgeon having a brain damaged patient.
Sounds like she needs some major remedial instruction...or she needs to find another occupation (my money's on the latter).

And then what?
How will she be a good doctor after she's been out of the loop for 2 1/2 years?

People who believe in affirmative action should be required to patronize only affirmative action doctors.

That is so disturbing.
Trying to reconcile all that was required to become a Doctor (knowledge, experience, time, money). And yet this ahole is so incredibly immature to do this... stunning.
