Just don’t know. He and his wife split up, and she died very soon after. Then seeing how nobody could get into a debate unless they were an approved GOP/DNC candidate I think embittered him. Also, he was still a sane guy when he made his dope arguments, but long time GOP “friends” turned on him hard and in a fairly insulting manner. That hit him pretty hard. I can’t say for sure, but I think a couple of things like that kinda turned him in a bad direction.
In 2016 he was unrecognizable from his old self. Also he had several very angry outbursts.

This narrative grows stranger and stranger. It would appear Mr. Johnson may have both lost his way and his soul. People who dump sick wives (John M for instance) reveals a very dark seam to their being.
