The day before Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones received presidential support for his policy stating that Cowboys players would stand for the national anthem, he got support from another critical constituency, his own players.
After practice on Thursday, Cowboys defensive end Taco Charlton made it clear that he has no problem following Jones rules on anthem conduct.
Hes the boss. Thats above my pay grade, Charlton said. . . . He said he wanted us to stand up. I dont have a problem with that. I understand where hes coming from. . . . I respect what he says. I have no problem with it.
Snip...
Another Cowboys defender, linebacker Sean Lee, also stated his desire to show respect for the flag and anthem.
I think Im going to do what Ive always done and stand, Lee said. Obviously, I believe that theres social injustice that needs to change in this country thats very serious. But I also believe that Im going to stand for the anthem, because I feel like Im blessed to be an American, and Im blessed to have two grandfathers who served. These ideas are not mutually exclusive.
I know one thing: Our locker room has stayed united. Weve respected everybodys opinion. Were going to be a group that stays united and works toward a common goal.

Nice to see them doing the right thing but the damage is done. The NFL may never recover from this mess.
No nfl. I will not go back to million dollar cry babies
Agreed.
Good to hear players using their head about this matter, but it's probably too late. Other team owners and players are still kicking and fussing like children. The league needed leadership two years ago and they had none.
Trying desparately to un-ring the bell.
Sorry ‘boys, it tolls for thee.
Why? I think the continued kneeling is good for our side in November. I won't be watching either way, so what do I care if they kneel?
It’s nice to know that a handful of them get it right. It’s about respecting the values of those who believe that standing for the national anthem is part of their value system. If players can’t respect the values of a majority of their fans, they should find another line of work.
They aren’t fooling me. Most nfl players want dead cops.
Too little, too late,
I am waiting for the articles describing all the things that the kneelers are doing in communities of the unfairly downtrodden to help them. I would not be surprised if the players who have always stood with respect during the playing of our National Anthem provide far more help than the kneelers.
Translation “We’re still sick America haters but we know we can’t work if we let it show so we will smile for the cameras.” My response is GFY I wish only the worst for the BLM/NFL and hope it goes belly up.
Yep, I sent them an e-mail after that b.s. in Arizona last year saying 30 plus years as a fan and you guys threw it away in a minute.
As the man said, though, this is above his pay grade and the NFL is just over.
It's a bittersweet thing. Football is over. The flag stuff is just recent thuggery that makes one not care that it's over.
(See tagline.)
Time will tell as the season progresses this year. The NFL needs
to do as the NBA did years ago. Incorporate the procedure into
their rules which are a part of the players contract.

Especially when Jones took a knee along side the players last season. Bottom line is more important that patriotism.
This is just the latest scam to try and win disgusted, former nfl fans back because Jerry Jones, along with the entire PC Pink, SJW, black racist "only black lives matter" , Anti-America, anti-white people, anti-Christian, anti-law enforcement, anti-U.S. military, anti-traditional nuclear family, anti-traditional AMERICAN values nfl is exponentially hemorrhaging money to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars out of every orafice of its collective franchise body with no end in sight.
Jones, the Cowgirls and the entire nfl showed and told us what they really believe and think: they literally HATE US AND EVERYTHING WE STAND FOR. That's the truth and we will never forget or forgive no matter what the nfl does because all the nfl really cares about is TAKING YOUR/OUR MONEY, that's it.
The national felon league is dead; they strangled it to death with their own hands!
One more thing; we, the millions upon millions of former nfl fans are not boycotting the nfl:
WE ARE I N D I F F E R E N T; WE NO LONGER CARE ABOUT THE nfl,
which is a thousand times worse for them, their sponsors, their merchandise sales, their season ticket sales and their regular ticket sales.
Our entire family of former nfl fans staunchly refuse to give another penny to an organization that literally HATES US, DENIGRATES US, AND HOLDS US, ALONG WITH OUR BELOVED COUNTRY IN UTTER CONTEMPT.
