America to Me subject Charles Donalson III used his platform during the Starz docuseries panel at the Television Critics Association press tour on Saturday to call out what he called Americas hoarding of wealth, citing examples he saw right there at the conferences Beverly Hilton setup.
The gap of financial resources is particularly prevalent in the entertainment industry, Donalson added. Hes now a small part of that business, and so is everyone he addressed. [snip]
Like, I would want each and every one of yall to take away from this from both documentaries [Starz also featured Warriors of Liberty City and the panel] not these stories of black power and stories of black struggle, like thats cool. Weve seen that. Start giving us stuff where we aint got to struggle no more, Donalson said. [snip]
Its because the people in power dont want to give us the money they have, they dont want to give us the privileges they have, shit, they dont even want to give us books, Donalson continued. So for the simple fact of this, I want each and every one of you to go write something about it.
Take away from this that this doesnt need to happen. Like yall can give us any type of light, any type of story, any type of shine, but until yall start helping us, until yall start putting us in positions where we dont need this spotlight
[nothing will change].

Read the comments. They are smoking this kid.
Wow!
Counter with these arguments:
L.K. Smith: “You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.”
“The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that, My Dear Friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
and, author Unknown: “You can shear a sheep many times but you can only skin it once.”
When you have absolutely no concept on how real wealth is created, when you view yourself as a perpetual, non productive victim and when in the final analysis the essentials of your very existence depends on the whims of others that you slavishly patronize, you inevitably have a dismal outcome. Either man up or rot slowly.
No social group that embraces such a nihilistic posture has historically prospered or even survived long.
Is it anyone’s fault but Starz that they got him to sign for nothing? (You'll be famous and then ...). At least he got a chicken dinner and some life experiences.
The kid is 18 - how much wealth does he expect to have at 18? It's not like he was a (poor abused) Disney kid...
In Hollywood, the wealth is indeed concentrated at the very top of the heap, with millions of minions working for union scale ($350 per day?), when they work. And he expects any sympathy from studio bosses?
If the kid doesn't have much wealth, he should get it the old fashioned way - by pulling a Menendez family ritual.
But his parents are in South Chicago and don't have any money or insurance to be worth killing over?
Shucks kid, shoulda chosen your parents better.
There is a reason that America is the most successful country on Earth.....and it isnt Socialism!
Yeah books. That’s what they want
I ALMOST feel sorry for kids like this...they’ve been intellectually abused and don’t know it...and talk about USED!!! See tagline.
Sooooo then you are admitting that you NEED Whitey to succeed? Beg for money! Beg for priledges! Beg for white mans ideas! Doesn't seem like this black life matters. Just another f'ing untalented leach. I wouldn't give an 18 year old his own pod cast little less a show. All cable movie channels suck sucks!
Then DJT comes along and shows them how phony the leftists are.
