A man who assaulted two police officers at the Free Tommy Robinson protest has been charged.
Three officers who were policing the #FreeTommy march and a counter protest in Cambridge on Saturday, July 21 were exposed to red dye.
The officers were doused with water after the unknown substance was sprayed on them.
Police arrested a 28-year-old man, Alan Phillips, at the scene and he will appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on August 21.
A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: "Alan Phillips, 28, of Chesterton Road in Cambridge, has been charged with two counts of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty, two counts of criminal damage and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has been bailed to appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on August 21."
It was reported that both protests started peacefully and the atmosphere at the protests was relatively relaxed until officers were sprayed...

Done as you asked. And it sounds like a plant. One lone protester comes out of the Free Tommy Robinson protestors, approaches the Stand Up To Racism protesters, and just happens to have red dye on him that he throws at the cops, instead of mixing it up with the counterprotestors. This screams “SET UP!”

I can read his Wikipedia page and he has been convicted 9 times. He is a common criminal.
