- Ronald Reagan was a man. He was not (not known as, at least) a womanizer. He cannot now defend himself from the charge, and to lay it today strikes me as a canard. A pastor peddling such should be ashamed. FULL STOP.
- Donald Trump ran the table in the primaries and defeated an odds-on favorite, the abominable Hillary Clinton, in the general election. Hillary would have continued the Obama policy of persecuting Christians, and would have turned the courts - including SCOTUS - against Christians and Christianity. Donald Trump has, and intends to, prevent that.
- Donald Trump’s history pretty much precludes his consideration by any legitimate Christian church for any position of leadership it its affairs. We know that, and we knew that before the election. If given a choice of Ronald Reagan or Donald Trump as Head of State, it would be Ronald Reagan hands down. Donald Trump, profiting from Reagan’s example (and, it has to be said, from some of Reagan’s mistakes) is excelling as Head of Government.
The conclusion of the matter is that Ronald Reagan is not an issue now, any more than Franklin Roosevelt or any earlier POTUS. Donald Trump is. And we can’t spare the man; he fights.
Trump is putting it all on the line against Turkey to save a Christian pastor.
