Ruth Bader Ginsburg Tells America She’d Like To Remain On The Bench ‘At Least Five More Years’

(snip) --- Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Sunday said she wants to keep her Supreme Court seat for “at least five more years.”

“I’m now 85,” Ginsburg said Sunday in New York at a production about late Justice Antonin Scalia called “The Originalist,” CNN reported. “My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years.”

(snip) ---- Ginsburg cited “good behavior” and the lack of term limits as reasons why she intends to remain on the bench into the foreseeable future. “You can’t set term limits, because to do that you’d have to amend the Constitution,” she said. “Article 3 says … we hold our offices during good behavior … And most judges are very well behaved.”

CNN reports that Ginsburg has hired law clerks for at least two more court terms.

The problem is that the Court has taken too much power for itself, making the tenure and appointment of its members critical issues.

She can’t even stay awake during hearings. Someone is eventually going to say something.

The old LIB hag probably doesn’t know where she is much of the time. She is a stain on American’s underwear.

Instead of term limits for the Court, how about a weight limit?

Since you don't have to be a lawyer or a judge ( or any legal background ) to be appointed to the Supreme Court, just think of the consequences. You have the Dems contorlling the Senate and the Presidency. They nominate Michael Moore to the Supreme Court. He is appointed. If there was a weight limit, he could serve for 200 years.

She woke up long enough to give an interview.

Sleeping during arguments isn't good behavior.

"....I have about at least five more years."

She's had both Colon and Pancreatic cancer and is 75 years old. And despite the Maoist style propaganda of her doing so many push-ups a day she's a frail 75 at that.

So, as with her prior leftist court decisions and other public proclamations, Ginsberg is again talking out of her ass.

It's been my observation over decades that, even people with their cancer in complete remission, so very often have fatal recurrences after hit by traumatic events. Trump's reelection in 2020 will surely strike her down for her final count - if she's not counted out before then.

Chief Justice Roberts should have a medic on duty every morning to check Bader’s pulse, to make sure she has one.

".... If 90 is a "kabillion" how much is 95?..."

Everybody knows the answer to that question.

It's a kabillion + 5.

Easy peasy!

I wonder if Buzzie contacted God to ensure she will be around that long? None of us know how long we have on this earth. She’s a typical Liberal hag who presumes she knows it all, ya think?

True, and even then, RBG might try to hold on and dicker with a new Dem administration as to whom they appoint to replace her. Of course, at RBG’s age, death or disabling illness may decide the issue at any time.

On responding to the question “what is your age?” with 76, I was recently dismissed from jury duty

In Oregon if you are aged 70 you can ask to be permanently removed from Jury duty list, you are not prohibited, you can just opt out.

Among things Judge Judy (also a little ‘long in the tooth’) is wont to say:

Judge Judy makes a little more than Ruthie. Judy's salary last year was 47 million, which helps explain what your cable bill is so high.

You mean 2018. If she goes in 2019 then the Senate should keep the seat open for the winner of the 2020 election.

There is no requirement that any seat be filled, let all the liberal judges die off and don't replace them.

So we’ll get her in the next term...

I believe she is trying to hang on for the 2024 election cycle and the 'Biden' rule.

Requirement? No. But McConnell set the precedent with Garland in 2016.

They can't act if the President dos not nominate was the point.

Obama nominated and McConnell followed the Biden rule. Would he do that again in if the Ginsburg seat came open in 2020?
