Can anyone explain the 72 virgins? Where do they come from? who are the 72 virgins? why 72? whats the significance of 72?
That’s the ideal harem size for eternity. Mad Mo thought that 71 was not quite enough and 73 was one too many.
9 x 8, of course :)
It’s “raisins”, NOT “virgins”, they get. It was a mistranslated word from their un-holy book.

The 'promise' of Mohammed and the Koran is that those who die in battle will receive 100 VIRGINS to have sex with when they get to 'heaven'.
Of the 100, 72 are female and 28 are male.
The 'public' and 'media' have shortcut the original story and now just repeat the phrase 72 virgins.
Some sources say that the original text referred not to 'virgins' but to GRAPES. Back then, GRAPES were a rare item and of course are part of the ingredients to make wine, which was a very important staple back in that period.
The thought is that Mohammed changed it to VIRGINS because of his propensity for having sex with very young girls, and probably young boys as well as the Muslims are known for having sex with young children, especially boys.
Rright? I've tried to understand that in the past as well. In eternity, apparently sex with virgins is all that Muslims aspire to have in a paradise afterlife; but only 72 times.
And what of the souls of the 72 virgins? What horrible thing were they judged on that requires them to be the sex slaves of martyred muslims? What "religion" is this that inspires humans to kill themselves in murderous acts by promising an afterlife whereby they can have sex 72 times with women who have never had sex with any other man before?
I’ve heard in the original version, it was raisins rather than virgins. Guess they weren’t getting enough idiots to sign on for raisins so changed it.
