Didn’t he also say, “Be polite. Be professional. But have a plan to kill everyone you meet, when SHTF.”

Is the infection in the tooth or just in the gums? Either way, if the infection gets loose in kitty’s body, dire results can follow.

By themselves, I couldn’t ID that old voice as Rush’s. LOL.

Same here, although it does sound "familiar".

My parents turned me onto Rush back in early 1991. I remember specifically it was March 1991, as I had a rare afternoon off from work to deal with my husband's and my upcoming wedding.

Heard Rush on WTIC 1080 AM (Hartford, CT) at my parents' house... I was *shocked*! I had never heard anyone like him before. Couldn't believe the stuff he was saying on air!

My father used to sit in the backyard in the summer, *blasting* Rush's show across the backyard, LOL :-D

Friends who live in the NYC area tell me Rush was on WABC 770 from 1988 on, but most of us here in northern Connecticut can't get WABC. And of course you couldn't stream in those days.

For years I thought he was a egotistical nutjob...then Clinton came along. LOL!

Rush was awesome during the Clinton years! I didn't want to miss one minute of each show. (Of course I often had to because of work)

I guess my parents clued me into Rush's egotistical "style" early on. I quickly realized it was tongue-in-cheek humor. i.e., "Talent on loan from God", etc.

January 1991 for me. WTIC AM introduced me to Rush.

You beat me by a couple of months! Back then I worked full-time, attended college at night, plus had a part-time job on the nights I wasn't in school, and on weekends. I had NO time for radio nor anything else, except a modest social life on Friday and Saturday nights.

I just happened to be at my parents' house in EH on that afternoon in March 1991. Had a rare afternoon off from work. I went in and heard this guy on the radio, going on about gay guys, etc. LOL! He was playing these outrageous song parodies. I was shocked and said to my parents: WHAT are you listening to?? Who the heck is that guy on WTIC?? (home of the great Bob Steele)

They told me all about Rush Limbaugh, and how great his radio show is. I listened to the rest of Rush's show that day. And the rest is history. :-)

In Boston Rush was aired on weekends at first, delayed on WHDH AM 850, then they took the show live noon to 3 followed by Howie Carr. In 1994 WHDH became sports WEEI and Rush and Howie both moved to WRKO AM 680 (Howie syndicates his own show these days, on WRKO and a couple dozen other stations, while Rush is on WXKS AM 1200 in Boston)

Loved hearing those old parody songs at the end of Rush’s show today... I really miss them! Maybe it’s just coincidental: Rush really was much more creative and funny when he was based in NYC.

“Maybe it’s just coincidental: Rush really was much more creative and funny when he was based in NYC.”

That’s because after he left NYC the liberals hounded him about taxes. He spent more time with that than anything else.

NYC sucks.

Rush— when you first came on the radio, on WABC, in my area, I had always been listening to other political hosts.

When you came on, that first day, one thing you said was that you would not be doing guests and interviews.

What?? I just looked at the radio, and said “ how long will YOU last???

Boy was I wrong!! Wasn’t long before I realized you didn’t need anyone. You were unique in yourself.

Many more years to you! You are the best!

Whoa! Thank you so much for that link, LUV W! :-)

I actually do want to listen to it again. And pass it onto friends who didn't get to hear it live.

That’s because after he left NYC the liberals hounded him about taxes. He spent more time with that than anything else.

NYC sucks.

That's a good point. I've heard him discuss how the State of NY (it wasn't just the City, I think) hounded him for years trying to "claw back" tax $$ from Rush, long after he moved to Florida. Absolutely disgusting. Outright THEFT!

Actually I think Rush's show just "evolved" over the years. I don't really think NY City or State had anything to do with it. Years ago, he mentioned he doesn't do song parodies anymore because of his deafness. Hmmm....

I really wish Rush would bring back some of the humor and song parodies he had back in the early days of his show. It's part of what made his show so great, and so different from all the others.
