IIRC it was rumored Rahm Emanuel wanted the job as mayor because the thought it would be his ticket to a 'higher office'.
Have you ever noticed while reading the articles about the number of people killed each week in Chicago the newspapers never report comments from the mayor or even mention his name?

Well, it’s safer to attack the police than it is to actually go after the gangs which are perpetrating the killings.
If the “marchers” were serious they would be arming themselves up and cleaning the bangers out.
But that would require that their bodies cash the checks which their mouths are writing.
