"A five-person team in the county that's worked solely on the risk protection law reportedly has filed 64 risk protection petitions in court."

Dox them. Names and addresses.

Confiscation is theft.
At no time do they ever plan to take guns from violent criminals!

The Risk Protection Order, signed by Florida Gov. Rick Scott....

Who is now running for U.S. Senate. Can't wait to see what other surprises he has in store for us if elected.

Rick Scott signed into law more restrictive gun laws than Barack Obama. Sad but true.

Good luck EVER getting ‘em back—either.

Yeah, these cops take advice from terrorists like CAIR or SPLC, no doubt, then pretend they are serious about protecting freedom.

Bunch of liars. They know it is bullsht and are leaking their chops at the prospects of filling prisons and getting their control domination high above people in those instances

How about restricting their privileges before their rights. These people can still run for office and be Governor , presidents and what not, with full security details and the weaponry of the state at their finger tips.

First get their car keys, school and political empowerment privileges , then use due process to go after their rights.

They will come next for people who drink, have a sweet tooth or any other excuse and will come for you too. Just look how they legalized death panels in Obamacare and have doctors now question old people with guns

Sad to say but one guy commitig suicide is not worth losing freedoms for the others. In fact it makes others even less able to offer help and protect communities

The government never saved people from suicide, quite the opposite. I have been too long in the Army to swallow this bull sht

-- It's ex post facto and thus unconstitutional. --

Lautenberg amendment made DV conviction a disqualifying event for posession. Thousands were disarmed years after the fact. law challenged as ex post facto. Court ruled that the legislature changing punishment is not an ex post facto event.

Just saying, don't expect the courts to follow the law or constitution when the law is taking guns away.

I know Washington state also just enacted a new law similar to Florida’s. I-1491, passed in 2017. It was used for the first time this year. While the following case does seem “reasonable” (the guy was paranoid, rented two hotel rooms so his family could be away and be safe), it seems likely that more cases that are just based on statements from an angry ex (”he said that....”) will follow.

Just one more incremental democrat step toward making more and more prohibited persons out of law abiding citizens. Floridafornia. Is this another one of those rotten knee-jerk laws passed by some jelly spined chicken shit governor after Parkland?

Might be better to just “sell” them for cash and keep no receipts, etc., claim they were stolen or whatever you decide. May even be better to move out of state.

remove weapons from gun owners who have been deemed by a judge....

Who is the judge? Who gave them such power? Is the judge mentally stable?

“Guns don’t kill people, people kill peple. Take the guns away from the nuts”.

Isn’t this what our side has been preaching every time there is a mass shooting and whenever the DUmmies want to take everyone’s guns away? It is a good law, as far as I’m concerned.

The Clinton tax increases were ex post facto. The anti-constitutional liberal courts ruled that they were constitutional.

The Constitution is not the law of the land in this country anymore.

In FL, CA, and several other blue states, anyone, not just a family member sharing living space, can now go to a cop while pointing a finger at you and say, “he threatened me, he has guns, I’m afraid for my life”.

BAM! Cop gets GVRO from judge and within minutes without any due process or psychiatric evaluation the po-po are banging on your door to seize your guns. Welcome to the brave new world.

Show me where I’m wrong.

"...it is a good law, as far as I am concerned..."

What if it is a nasty ex-wife, ex-husband, ex-girlfriend, or ex-boyfriend who knows you love the Second Amendment and just wishes to make your life miserable via false accusation?

"...without any due process..."

You can say that again, elcid1970.

Not only that...once my leftwinger employer heard about me being the subject of a GVRO confiscation, my employment would be immediately terminated. So a single liar could effectively bring most my life crashing down around me due to instability on their part. The legislators know that and wish to keep patriots on a short leash. With that in mind, they know some people will opt not to continue their hobby/sport/collecting of firearms.

Gun confiscation will *never* be via the dawn of door-bashing that many FReepers fantasize. It will be via a coworker who dislikes you and calls from an office lobby phone and tells officers a fake name to get the GVRO ball rolling. Good luck trying to slow THAT momentum.

The Constitution is not the law of the land in this country anymore.

Can’t disagree with that. I also agree, these slime bags are not going to go door to door, confiscating weapons. I think they are going to do it this way. These scum sucking Siberian snow lizards know they can’t do what Obama’s friend wants to do, unless they get the weapons away from the people. I don’t know how long they plan to let this go on.

In CA there is an official confiscation squad which is sent to citizens’ homes who are on a no-guns-for-you list. Their Red Flag law has been in place for three years; Watch what happens in the Fruitcake State and see America’s future if it ever spreads. So far these new Snitch Laws are confined to liberal states, but only for now.

IMO there will be an explosion in SWATing incidents as a corollary to GVRO/Snitch.
